City Church Rockford

City Church Rockford SUNDAY SERVICE TIMES | 9:30am | 11:15am In 2002, Pastor Doug and his wife, Caryn, felt a call to start a church in the Rockford area.

At the time they were serving at Resurrection Life Church in Grandville under the leadership of Pastor Duane VanderKlok. With Pastor Duane’s full blessing, the church plant began with 35 people at the Pine Island Elementary School. The church outgrew several temporary facilities over the years as God blessed the work and added new members. In April 2005, the church moved to its current location on Ten Mile Road and now ministers to more than 1,200 people on a weekly basis.

Women’s Summer Picnic Update
Due to the forecast of severe weather and potentially damaging winds this evening, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Women’s Summer Picnic.
The safety of our guests and volunteers is our highest priority, and we believe this is the wisest course of action.

Update from our Puerto Rico team!!

“Our Puerto team had another long, hot day richly filled with so much love, laughter, and blessings. We finished up Sarah’s home and also worked at the church of one of our leaders. Several members of the team brought with them beautiful homemade gifts such as crosses, journals, and jewelry that we were able to bless Sarah and others with. Our evening was spent at the most fun church service led by Pastor David, our Praying Pelican leader. Maya played the keyboard and sang, others played tambourines, and everyone loved the fun, relaxed atmosphere. Pastor David asked our team to share their stories. Some spoke about this experience, and others spoke of their personal journey with God, and it was beautiful.
Our theme has been to share the JOY of the Lord wherever we are and it has been contagious!
God is so good!”

Update from our Puerto Rico team!

“Team Puerto Rico worked so hard Monday! We met Sarah, a 75 year old widow that needed a lot of repairs done to her home. We scraped, and painted almost the whole outside of her home including the fences. Put new tar on the roof, cleared and cleaned up her very overgrown yard and helped Sarah in the kitchen prepare the team lunch. The heat index was again at 115 degrees. We are back here today to finish up. (Before and after pictures to come)The team is doing great and working together so well!! The Joy of the Lord definitely lives in the hearts of each one of them!”

Update from our team in Puerto Rico!!!

“The Puerto Rico team is off to a great start! Sunday we started our day with a beautiful church service, and then enjoyed fellowship and lunch with the Pastor and her family. The afternoon was fill with street ministry and praying over the now desolate town square where it was 115 degrees!  Afterwards we were treated with a refreshing ice cream stop.
The team is leaning in and the love of Christ is shining through!”

Our mission team landed in Puerto Rico yesterday! Please help us cover them in prayer as they spend the next week sharing the Gospel!

Throughout the week, they will be repairing two homes and helping with community cleanup projects, including roof repairs, tree removal, painting, and other practical needs. They will also be engaging in street ministry, leading VBS for approximately 60 children, and hosting a Party on the Plaza for the local community.

Each morning, the team begins the day together with devotion, praise, and worship as they prepare for the work and ministry ahead.

Please pray for strength, safety, unity, and open hearts as they serve and share the love of Christ throughout the week!
