Sunday Morning Service

I praise God for the ministry He has given me over the last two years at Rockford Baptist. I could not think of a message fitting for the last service, so I put together about 15 songs that have meant something to my ministry over the years. I pray that they touch you as well.

As the location moves on to better things, no matter what the name is, or what kind of worship or service the new church follows, I pray that the men of God leading the charge will do all things according to God's will as they start this new venture.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported Rockford Baptist over the years, whether through prayer, financial support, physical labor, or any other means. Thank you for being a part of what God has ordained throughout the last 160 years of ministry at Rockford Baptist.

Please continue to pray for the ministry to come, as the church location looks forward to a fresh new start in early August 2025.

During His sermon on the mount, Jesus gave us a lot of ways to look at How our God wants us to live, according to His will.

After teaching bout certain things such as beatitudes, us being salt & light, along with why He came to this earth, Jesus quickly touched on about 16 different topics that come up around us in our daily lives. While these are not all direct commandments of God, they are all given to us as a means to handle almost every part of our lives once we have fully surrendered unto Him. We should see them as "Rules to Live By"

Fulfilling God's Law - 04/13/2025

As Jesus taught His followers, they began to hear some contradictions to what their ears wanted to hear. The same thing happens to us in our Christian walk. There may be things that we cannot understand about the laws of God in today's world, but the laws of God are still written on the hearts and minds of every true child of God. We must continually tune ourselves to the word of God and listen for the Holy Spirit to guide us so that we can strive for perfection in the way Jesus has taught us in the sermon on the mount. Being a Light in the World

Jesus continued His sermon on the mount by telling His followers that they were not only the salt of the earth, but also the light of the world.

With us knowing that Jesus is the Light of the World how can Hid disciples also be the light of the world?

As a child of God, we must continue to be useful unto God. We must always preserve His word and use it to bring forth the light in the darkness around us. If a pitch dark room is full of people, and someone lights a match, everyone in the room will see, and look toward, the light. We must stand out among those around us as Jesus did to the people of His day, always being a beam of light that leads people to the understand of their sins and need for salvation.

The Salt of the Earth - 03/23/2025

Jesus tells His followers that they are the "Salt of the Earth."
Salt can not only enhance the flavor of a food, but it can also be used as a preservative. If salt has come to point of being weak in its flavor, the Bible tells us that then it can only be used to be trampled under men's feet.

As a child of God, we must continue to be useful unto God. We must always preserve His word and use it to bring forth the flavor of His word to those who may not have a taste fort the gospel.
