Volunteer Pianist/Pipe Organist, and Musicians Internship Opportunity
United Methodist Church of the Rockaways (UMCR)
The United Methodist Church of the Rockaways is prayerfully seeking a volunteer pianist and internship opportunity as our most immediate and important need for worship ministry. We are also open to volunteer pipe organists, musicians, singers, instrumentalists, and worship artists who would like to share their gifts and help build meaningful worship experiences for our church community.
We welcome people who enjoy traditional hymns, contemporary worship music, and creative worship for all generations.
This is a wonderful opportunity:
• Music students looking for worship internship experience
• Pianists and organists who enjoy church music
• Musicians and worship artists who want to grow in worship leadership
• People who want to serve God and the community through music and the arts
At UMCR, we believe music and the arts are important parts of worship, prayer, and spiritual encouragement. Worship helps bring people together and opens hearts to God’s presence.
We are open to one volunteer pianist or a small team of volunteers who may serve in rotation, depending on availability and schedule. This flexible approach allows volunteers to participate every other week, once a month, or during special services as they are able.
Volunteer time and participation would also include rehearsal or preparation time before each worship service to help support a meaningful, organized, and spiritually uplifting worship experience.
We are also excited to welcome additional musicians, singers, instrumentalists, and worship artists who would like to help build a greater and more inspiring worship experience together as an ensemble and ministry team.
Volunteer team members (3-5 hours a week) may help with:
• Sunday worship services
• Piano and pipe organ music
• Traditional and contemporary worship
• Rehearsal and worship preparation
• Special services and church celebrations
• Worship planning with church leaders and musicians
