"Love, Honor and What?!”

Sunday is our Annual Women's Sunday. Members of our WELCA group (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) will conduct various parts of the liturgy. Special thanks to Ruth Ann Greiner, our congregation's WELCA President, who will offer the homily. Thank you to Carol Schutz, Ellen Crane, Joan Cosgrove, Betty Scorese, Joyce Maul and Judy Randazzo for assisting with worship.

Here are some ways you can participate in this week’s worship service:

Mother/Child Banquet - The ladies' group of Holy Trinity (WELCA) will be holding its annual mother/child banquet on Friday, May 8, at 6:00 PM. Entertainment will be provided by Nick Rizzo and his wildlife program. Adults - $15.00, Children (6 - 12) - $10.00, and Children (under 6) - Free. Please join us for this annual night of fun and fellowship. Please Complete the form found in the bulletin to reserve your spot.







How Do I Give Electronically to Holy Trinity?

1. If you wish to give initially, or to increase current giving levels, please follow these instructions:

2. Go to the Holy Trinity web site: www.rockawaylutheran.org

3. Click “Give” on the upper toolbar, right side

4. Click the “Give Box”

a. First time users: You will need to sign up for an account. After completing step #3 above, look at the upper toolbar and click “Sign up”. Please complete all relevant questions about user name and passcode, etc.

5. For donations to regular giving (Current Operation Fund), click the button “contribute” in the General Fund Box

6. Enter a dollar amount for a one-time gift… or if you prefer to give a set dollar amount at regular intervals, click the “recurring” button

7. Then, underneath the recurring button, specify the frequency you wish to give. Your choices are “every week”, “every two weeks”, or “monthly”.

8. Then click the “start date” box and specify when you wish to initiate your contribution(s)

9. Then click the button “Add to Basket”.

10. Then click the button “Continue to Payment” Then enter your bank account information.

a. To the right of that box please consider contributing the 1% processing fee by clicking the tab “I would like to offset the processing fess…”

11. Then click the button “Continue to Review” to complete your transaction.

Important note: If you wish to increase an amount already in the system, you must first cancel the former giving amount and frequency, then start over with your new information. Otherwise, your personal account may be debited twice in the same giving period: Once for the former amount and again for the newer, revised amount.

Get your tickets for the annual Fish and Chips dinner! At Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 246 Woodport Road, Sparta. Chicken dinners will also be available. April 19, 5:30pm. Take out orders start at 5:00pm. Tickets are $22 in advance, $25 at the door. Loads of free raffle give-aways, too. For tickets and information, see Pastor Jack.



Lunch and Learn Adult Bible study topic: Classes are offered on the first and third Wednesdays at noon in the choir room. Next class will be offered on May 6 and 20. See Pastor for details.


Join the NJ Youth Ministry Mission Team at the Somerset Patriots Game on June 13th!

Come at 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 13 for a picture on the field, watch the 7:05pm game, and then stay for the fireworks. Tickets are a special price of only $10.50 each, AND you will receive a $10 gift voucher towards your food that night, just see Debra Porowski at the park for your gift card.

For several years we have had a subscription to receive materials from "Sundays and Seasons", an organization fully endorsed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. This group provides our varying confession litanies, prayers, responsive readings, texts, hymn suggestions and more.



Did you know; Our facility is fully handicapped accessible, including restrooms? And we offer several front door parking spaces in our lot for those who are physically and medically challenged.



Choir Rehearsal every Sunday 10am. New voices are always welcome!

November 2 Worship Guide
Celebrate


As part the All Saint’s service(11/2), the names of those departed since last All Saint’s service(11/1/2024) will be read to the congregation. If you wish to recognize someone recently departed, please complete the form enclosed in this weeks bulletin.


Rehearsals for our Children’s Christmas program “Where His Star Led” will begin on October 26 at 10:00am in the sanctuary. Only students who have received an introductory letter will be needed.



Choir Cantata practice(Christmas choir program rehearsals) will be offered each Sunday after worship. If interested, please see our Music Director, Kathy Sacchiero.


Pastor Jack will be away on Vacation until November 3. In case of Pastoral emergency, please contact Rev. Fred Becker at 617-642-6557.



It’s not too late to hand in a pledge card for 2026. The pledge cards can be found on the ushers table at the back of the church. Please prayerful consider your donation and place in offering plate.



Lunch and Learn In-Person Bible Study November 5, at noon in the choir room. Our new semester topic will explore the New Testament Book of Hebrews. Can't make it "in person"? Then please ask Pastor Jack for the online ZOOM link. The class meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at noon.



Community Thanksgiving Worship Service is scheduled. Mark your calendars for Monday, November 24 at 7:00pm at the United Methodist Church of the Rockaways, 1 Hoagland Ave. Participants are invited to bring non-perishable food donations to support our Rockaway Food Closet. A cash offering will also be encouraged to benefit RISE UP Rockaway.



Parsonage repairs As many of you have been made aware, the Church Parsonage is in immediate need of repairs, most importantly the deck which is rotting as well as doors and door framing. The Parsonage is part of the Church's valuable assets and the Pastor's home which needs to be maintained. An anonymous member of the Congregation has offered to donate up to $10,000 as a matching fund to be specifically designated for these repairs. Please consider a donation which will be matched by this fund. Please write on memo line “Parsonage” Check out our giving thermometer at the back of the sanctuary!
