A quick reminder for Sunday regarding our time and location change for church in George.

We will gather for worship at 10:00 A.M. at the George Depot with Immanuel Lutheran George Iowa

Please bring an item to share and a lawn chair, and come ready to enjoy our time together in fellowship.

We will also have a Blessing of the Backpacks, praying over students, teachers, and all who are beginning a new school year.

Immanuel Lutheran George Iowa and Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids gather for worship on this Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost.

In today’s Gospel (Matthew 15:21–28), we meet the Canaanite woman, an outsider who refuses to give up hope. Her courage and persistence open the way for healing, and Jesus proclaims, “Great is your faith!” As we worship, we remember that God’s mercy reaches across every boundary and welcomes all people into grace.

This is the Eleventh Sunday after Pentecost. In today’s Gospel, we hear the story of Jesus walking on the water toward the disciples in the midst of the storm. As fear rises, Jesus speaks the words we all need: “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.”

We gather today trusting that Christ meets us in every storm, steadying our steps, calming our hearts, and calling us to faith.
