East & West St. Olaf Lutheran Churches East and West St. Olaf Lutheran Churches are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. East St. Olaf and West St. All are welcome!

This dual-parish community of faith has been a vibrant part of the rural Byron, Hayfield, Kasson and Stewartville Minnesota landscape for over 150 years! Olaf Lutheran Churches share a common heritage, as well as a pastor. As small rural churches, we have served the rural Byron, Hayfield, Kasson and Stewartville areas for over 150 years. We are a pair of thriving, active church communities in sout

heastern Minnesota. Worship services are offered every Sunday morning at each church. The service time rotates monthly between the two churches, to accommodate a single Pastor serving both churches. During the school year, Sunday School is offered at both churches for youth ages pre-K through 12th grade. Our pastor is Reverend Paul Thompson. Janet Anderson passed away on January 9, following a brief but exhausting illness. The family is planning a memorial on her farm later this spring when the weather is warmer. Below is the link to her obituary.

Dear St Olaf Members,
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at East St. Olaf Lutheran Church, for Faye Rud.
Faye married Herbert Rud, Aiden Rud's brother.

A luncheon will follow her service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Maple Grove Cemetery in Kasson, MN.

Dale Boelter Sr. will be laid to rest Friday, February 28. His visitation will be at Griffen Grey Funeral Home in Stewartville, Thursday evening, February 27, from 5 to 7:30. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. at East St Olaf Lutheran Church, with burial immediately following, then light refreshments in the church basement.
