ORPR Camp, located in rural northern Illinois, provides our Russian Orthodox Youth with a month of instruction in Russian Orthodox Religion, Russian Culture, History and scouting in a comfortable camp setting. The camp session runs the entire month of July and also includes activities such as swimming, hiking, scavenger hunts, campfires, sports, and arts & crafts. Our Mission:
To support the youth

of the Diocese of Chicago and Mid-America of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia and to help them grow spiritually, emotionally, culturally, and socially through a month-long residential camp. ORPR fosters a positive, safe, and loving environment that promotes healthy connections with other Orthodox Christians and nurtures future leaders. Our Vision:
Our passionate members and volunteers improve lives and instill our values by fostering year-round youth development, family involvement, healthy relationships, and spiritual growth.

Borschtfest 2025 was hugely successful! Thank you to St George Orthodox Cathedral for hosting such a wonderful event. Huge shout out to all the campers who volunteered, participated in singing on stage, or just came out to enjoy the delicious borscht. We can't wait for Borschtfest 2026!!

Borschtfest is Chicago’s celebration of Eastern European and Slavic culinary arts and culture! Hosted by Saint George Cathedral at 917 N Wood Street, in collaboration with ORPR Camp, we heartily invite you to participate in the borscht cookoff, either by preparing a soup or by sampling the myriad of entries. ORPR Camp will have an entry in the cookoff! The winner of Chicago’s Best Borscht for 2025 will be determined by popular vote. The entertainment program features authentic Georgian choral folk music by Ensemble Alioni, Slavic songs by the Ivushki Choir,
poetry readings and mesmerizing sword dances!

All proceeds from BORSCHTFEST!2025 will benefit the current Seminarians. These talented students – and their families – have willingly chosen a life of self-sacrifice in order to prepare themselves to be the future pastors of our church, fulfilling the Great Commission of Our Lord and Savior. Come to sample the mouthwatering cuisine, enjoy the stellar entertainment, and know that your contribution will make a positive impact in the lives of our future clergy!

🍂 ORPR Camp is looking for volunteers to help get camp ready for winter during our Work Weekend on October 11th! 🍂

Camp relies on volunteers year-round to help maintain our facilities, and we need your help! Lunch will be provided. Come ready to work!

Please note: all those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Another wonderful session of ORPR Camp is coming to a close. We are looking forward to seeing you again tomorrow, Saturday, August 2nd, 2025.

Tomorrow's program is as follows:
11:30 AM - Благодарственный Молебен (Moleben)
12:00 PM - Спуск Флагов/Торжественное Закрытие (Parade)
12:30 PM - Обед (Lunch)
1:00 PM - Camper Pickup begins

*ALL PARENTS MUST SIGN THE CHECKOUT FORM
*All Magazine care packages must be retrieved at the magazine
*If your child has medication in camp, it can be obtained at this time as well.
