Oh God,
We are weeping.
The injustices horrify us. State sanctioned violence is commonplace. Lies are spread by those in power. Heinous actions are justified by people who claim your name.

God, help us.
Help us be courageous. Help us be people of peace. Help us to have discernment, name evil, and speak truth. Help us pursue righteousness and justice, which are the foundation of your throne. Help us love. Help us act. Help us give. Help us remember. Help us know you and your voice so deeply that we quickly know the imposters.

God, be near.
Be near to the brokenhearted. Be near to the families separated. Be near to those who are fearful. Be near to the ones standing up and speaking up. Be near to the crushed in spirit. Be near to the lonely and the weary and the hurting. Be near to those who are holding pain in their personal lives while also holding the oppressive lawlessness happening around the world.

May our tears be prayers.
May our protests be revival.
May our courage be contagious.
May our joy be resistance.
May our anger be awakening.

Have mercy, Lord.

We are weeping,

faith & practice compels us to speak.

We are appalled by the destruction of human lives in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel.

Gonic Friends Meeting calls for immediate action:
- Permanent ceasefire and humanitarian access for Gaza
- Adherence to international human rights law
- Cessation of weapons shipments to all combatant groups until
compliant with international law
- Diplomacy to create a just peace
