"His intent was that now, through the Church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to His eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Ephesians 3:10-11 NIV)

God's eternal purpose was not the Cross. The Cross simply solved the hiccup to His purpose, that occurred at the Fall of Adam.

God's eternal purpose was more radical than restoration out of sin. So radical and so satisfying, people can hardly take it in and rarely live by what the new birth provides them.

Pastor Brian gives a crash course on the Trinity and the real outcomes of being born again, in the message:

"Nevertheless, I (Jesus) have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering , and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless the repent of her ways." (Revelation 2:20-22 NIV)

There is a fable peddled in the modern grace movement that because a believer has had their sins remitted and been begotten the righteousness of God in Christ, that God no longer sees their sin, convict them of sin, or deal with them in regards to their sin. But this is a fable the New Testament does not support and unravels very quickly.

Pastor Brian concludes his series on his divergences with the modern grace movement with the message:

The Discipline of Unconditional Love.

"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize. Run in such a way that you may obtain it. "
(1 Corinthians 9:24)

In a zeal to emphasize the graciousness of the gospel the modern grace movement has a tendency to cherry pick the verses it uses for the concepts they teach, while ignoring scriptures that point out the necessity for grace empowered actions and effort.

Pastor Brian looks at the Apostle Paul's "grace race" to reveal a discipleship that "exercises itself towards godliness" without the slightest suggestion that by doing so, its religious or legalistic.

"Paul's Grace Race" is the message of the week.

Happy Mother's Day to Everyone. We honor all the moms out there who made a greater impact than they ever thought they did. God called you, God sees you, and God honors the sacrificial giving of yourself to love without measure.
