"Then the disciples of Jesus came to Him privately and asked Him, 'Why could we not cast it out'? So Jesus said to them, 'Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed you will say to this mountain 'Move from here to there' and it will move; and nothing shall be impossible to you'." (Matthew 17:19-20)

Verses like this quickly turn believers into unbelievers, even though the words proceed from the mouth of Jesus who is the truth and speaks the truth.

Pastor Brian looks at a failure which many today would ascribe to a lack of anointing (power) or that the sought out results were not within God's will. But Jesus had another answer. One that makes us very uncomfortable in the light of modern cliche's that seek refuge behind the sovereignty of God.

"Have faith in God" (English translation-Objective Genitive)

"You have faith of God" (Literal Greek-Subjective Genitive)

In the 1990's when the critics of the Word of Faith movement attacked the teachings of the movement they made Mark 11:22 a special battlefield.

It was the contention of the critics that Word of Faith was teaching its namesake subject the wrong way by rendering Mark 11:22 as a subjective genitive and suggesting that God has and uses faith, when in fact (say the critics) God is only, ever, the object of our faith.

Pastor Brian strolls through the remnants of an old battlefield to answer an unanswered argument and make sure the critics of Word of Faith are not the final words on the issue.

Many critics of the Word of Faith movement say that calling faith a force is nothing less than a new age concept placed upon biblical faith from outside of scripture.

Pastor Brian says, that when God (who scripturally is the source of all Faith) manifests the attributes of His being (in the case of faith-His self assurance that all He desires and says shall be) there are times when faith could be called little else than a force; so assured is the state of the heart it is present in and so powerful the results that follow after it.

Was Jesus truly God or just a man? Or was He only God and just playing at being man? Or was He a man indwelt by and anointed of God but not God by nature? And if He's both human and divine how does that work? And do any of these questions really matter?

More than you might think.

Pastor Brian looks at the humanity and the divinity of Jesus Christ to lay the groundwork to examine another question just as vital. When a Christian is born again do they become a little God?

"Therefore, take heed HOW you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken away." (Luke 8:18 NKJV)

There are high stakes in hearing the Word of God correctly. There are outcomes that will never be unless you consider carefully how you deal with the Word of God.

Here's a little three step journey to a life surrounded by the miraculous.

God is light (1 Jn 1:5).
In His light we see light (Ps 36:9).
The entrance of His Word gives light (Ps 119:130).

God's light of revelation is the basis of all faith. God's word is the basis of all revelational light. Man's heart is the random element that determines whether a crop of "nothing is impossible" faith comes from the light seeds planted within it

In the 1990's the critics of the Word of Faith movement waged a minor war over how Mark 11:22 should be translated.

They were adamant that Word of Faith was misusing the verse to advance the concept of "The God Kind of Faith" and were therefore guilty of teaching their namesake subject the wrong way.

In this article, Pastor Brian examines the translation war of Mark 11:22 and provide the assurance that Word of Faith was (and is) teaching faith, just fine.

Is Faith a force? My, how the critics of Word of Faith disliked that concept and consigned it to being nothing more than a metaphysical approach to faith, with no biblical basis to it.

Pastor Brian disagrees and outlines a biblical response that shows how faith can warrant the heading of spiritual force.
