🎒📚 Blessing of the Backpacks 2026 📚🎒

What a beautiful morning at Unionville Church! ❤️ It was so wonderful to see so many kiddos in church today as we gathered for our annual Blessing of the Backpacks and prayed over them as they prepare for a brand-new school year.

As backpacks are packed, classrooms are prepared, buses begin their routes, and another year gets underway, we pray that God goes with each and every person stepping into our schools. 🙏

We pray for our students — that they have the courage to try new things, kindness toward others, confidence in themselves, and hearts ready to learn and grow.

We pray for our teachers and school staff — for patience, wisdom, strength, and the ability to make a difference in the lives of the children entrusted to them.

We pray for our bus drivers — for safe travels each day as they carry some very precious cargo! 🚌❤️

And we pray for all of the families sending their children off for another year — whether it’s the very first day of preschool or another year closer to graduation or even college. May God give you peace through every milestone and every new adventure.

May our schools be filled with kindness, friendship, patience, learning, laughter, and love this year. Most of all, may each child know that wherever they go, God goes with them. ❤️

As a new school year begins, let’s start it with prayer.

Join us for worship at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 23 as we pray a special blessing over everyone involved in the school year, including:

Bring your backpack, school bag, teacher tote, or work bag as we ask God to bless, protect, guide, and strengthen you throughout the year ahead.

❤️ A beautiful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference.

We were so touched to receive this message from a community member after our Unionville Church sewing ladies donated 29 handmade lap quilts to the residents of Villa St. Joseph Memory Care in Baden.

“Thank you to the Unionville Women’s Quilters! 29 lap quilts to Concordia St. Joseph Memory Care in Baden! They are all so beautiful and made with love and prayers! They put the name of each patient on them, and they are a blessing for sure!” ❤️🙏

What a wonderful ministry of love! Each quilt was stitched with care, wrapped in prayer, and personalized for the resident who received it.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing sewing ladies for sharing their God-given talents and serving others with such compassion. We pray these quilts bring comfort, warmth, and a reminder that each resident is deeply loved.

Well done, ladies! 💙

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community and the team at Guys Market!

As part of their 5-Year Anniversary Celebration, Guys Market raised funds to benefit two local organizations - including the Unionville Church Food Pantry. On top of that, they rounded up customer donations and matched them, resulting in an amazing $500 donation to help support our food pantry ministry!

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this possible. Your kindness will make a real difference for local families in need.

A special thank you to the entire team at Guy's Market on 68 for choosing to support our food pantry and for investing back into our community.

Congratulations on 5 wonderful years in business! We’re thankful for neighbors like you who make our community stronger. ❤️

We didn’t forget!
We were able to raise $450 from our raffle baskets at our 5 year anniversary celebration.
By rounding up and matching that, each organization will be receiving $500! Thank you for showing up for our community!
