God made our world with so many natural rhythms. Every day,
the earth turns on its axis and faces the sun anew each morning.
The moon goes through phases each month. Spring gives way to
summer, then fall, then winter…and back to spring.

And God also gave people rhythms so we can remember and enjoy
his presence. God invites us to commune with him daily. God
offers us a full day to rest in him each week, plus we have annual
holidays like Christmas and Easter to remember and celebrate all
God has done.

Today we can help kids consider how God is a part of their
regular rhythms of life. God is an awesome part of our lives—so

Have you ever been so excited about something that you burst
into song? Maybe it happened more when you were a kid, singing
about a grilled cheese sandwich or a trip to the playground.

The Israelites were so grateful for the miracle God had done
that they sang a song. They praised God’s awesome power and
celebrated God’s victory.

Sometimes kids forget to say thank you. We can them capture a
sense of joy and wonder—and burst into song to thank their
awesome God!

Now that Christmas has wrapped up and we’re settling into the blistering cold of winter ❄️, we thought it would be a great time to warm things up by sharing a little “Get to Know Our Staff” with all of you!

What impossible situations do you face today? From personal
struggles to global crises, circumstances are often outside
our control.

But they aren’t outside Jesus’ control. Jesus does the impossible,
and he works through people like you and me to bring hope in the
darkest times.

You may not think of yourself as a miracle worker, but with Jesus’
power, you are. You never know how Jesus may be working
through your words, your smile, or your presence to do more than
we can ask or imagine.

Today we can help kids realize that they may be part
of miracles, too! Encourage them to lean on Jesus when they face
impossible situations and look for how Jesus may want to bring
hope and light through them.

🍽 Favorite comfort food - Ice cream! It's always a good time for ice cream!
✈️ Dream travel destination - Since it's winter in Minnesota, any place that is warm sounds wonderful! Maybe Florida or South Carolina.
🎬 A forever-favorite movie - Every fall, I always watch You've Got Mail to kick off heading back to school. Bouquets of sharpened pencils anyone? :)
😌 How they unwind after a long day - I like to come home and put on comfy clothes and drink coffee.

Jesus does the impossible—and that’s amazing! It’s even cooler to
think that he invites us to join his work. Peter got to experience
this firsthand. Peter figured that if it was really Jesus walking on
the water, he’d invite Peter to try too. And Jesus did! When Peter
wobbled on his water walkway, Jesus was right there to help
him up.

You see, faith in Jesus isn’t passive. It’s courageous! It’s not a “close
your eyes and hide away” kind of faith. It’s a choice to keep our
eyes on Jesus through every storm of life.

Today we can help kids explore what it’s like to keep their eyes on
Jesus as he guides them through seemingly impossible situations.
As you do, be sure to keep your eyes on Jesus—the “champion who
initiates and perfects our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).
