In the Catholic tradition, we believe death is not the end. Our faith reminds us that, through Christ, we are called to the hope of eternal life.

The butterfly offers a beautiful reflection of that hope. Its transformation can remind us of the promise of new life and the resurrection, a gentle symbol of the faith we hold when we entrust our loved ones to God.

This month, we invite you to join us for our annual Butterfly Release, a special opportunity to pause, remember those we love, and surround one another with prayer and hope.

Saturday, September 12, 2026
10:00 AM — Ascension Garden Cemetery
2:00 PM — Holy Sepulchre Cemetery
First Responders Section at each cemetery

Together, we’ll honor those who have gone before us and give thanks for the love that continues to connect us.

May we find comfort in our faith, strength in one another, and hope in Christ.

Note: These short ceremonies begin promptly at their scheduled times. Please allow extra time to park and walk to the First Responders section. Both events will be held outdoors. In the event of inclement weather, please visit our website for updates or schedule changes.

The St. Bernard’s section at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery is a part of our community’s enduring story of faith, family, and tradition.

For generations, Catholic families have entrusted their loved ones to our care, creating a sacred landscape where memories are preserved and faith continues to be passed down.

As we walk among these resting places, we are reminded of the lives, families, and stories that came before us, and the promise of eternal life that lies at the heart of our Catholic faith.

This week, take a moment to remember someone who helped shape the person you are today.

Offer a prayer for them.
Give thanks for their life.
Carry one of their lessons forward.

May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

At Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, the Pieta offers a quiet place to pause, pray, and reflect.

In Mary’s sorrow, we are reminded of the depth of a mother’s love and in Christ’s sacrifice, of the hope we hold through faith.

May this sacred image remind us that even in our deepest grief, we are never alone. Mary understands our sorrow, and Christ walks with us through every season of life.
