Happy Feast Day! ❤️🎉🙏🏾✨️

August 27 is the Feast of St. Monica, our patron and protector. She is the patron saint of married women and abuse victims. North African and mother of the wayward-turned-saint Augustine, she was known for her deep faith and ardent prayer for conversion of those living violent lives. According to St. Monica, "Nothing is far from God."

St. Monica,
You never gave up even when things seemed hopeless.
You are strong in your faith.
Help us be strong in our faith and remember to pray and trust God always.
St. Monica, pray for us!

Congratulations to R Community Bikes, which is celebrating 25 years as a non-profit organization! St. Monica parishioner Dan Lill is the founder of the organization, which can be found faithfully at every Tuesday's Westside Farmers Market in our parking lot. Dan's wife Ellen, of happy memory, would take the names of guests, who then waited patiently for their turn to get a chain fixed, air in the tires, and a zillion other things! The crew of volunteers changes, but R Community Bikes is always there for the community and continues to work their same magic at the market and at their headquarters on Hudson Ave. The organization is always are looking for bikes: it doesn't matter the shape, age, condition... they will fix it up! And it's not just for kids - R Community Bikes has given many bikes to adults who use them for transportation to and from work! Congratulations and thank you to all from R Community Bikes for your amazing service to the community! Here’s to another 25 years! 🎉🚲❤️

This past Sunday, we gave a blessing to Rita and Dick Kane, who celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. What a special event to celebrate with the community! May God continue to bless them and their loved ones through their marriage ❤️🙏🏾

VBS 2026: Light of the World was brilliant! We had an amazing week filled with fun, faith, friends, and great memories. THANK YOU to everyone who made VBS so special: campers, counselors, chefs, staff, those who supported us with food and funds, and those who prayed for us. It is special because we have so many caring people in our community sharing their gifts to make it happen. WE LOVE YOU! 🩵🔦💡🕯☀️⚡️🚦🌟🌙🎉

St. Monica's Faith Formation Director, Jessica T***e, shares about her lifelong involvement with Camp Stella Maris and the connection with St. Monica's today. Joining her is St. Monica youth group member Eliaquim Mendez, who was part of the counselor-in-training program this summer and shared about his love for CSM.

As always, we are endlessly grateful for the generosity of our community, which allows our youth to have the amazing experience of attending camp! We love you! ❤️

A century of camp magic. 🏕️

We had a ball at the Red Wings game this week! What a great turnout of St. Monica, Emmanuel Church of the Deaf, and Immaculate Conception/St. Bridget's parishioners and friends. Our youth singers did a great job singing the Star-Spangled Banner to start the game. And the Red Wings won! 🏆 A big thanks to all who spent this wonderful time with us! ❤️⚾️🎶
