Lent… a season of introspection, repentance and fasting. The Apostle Paul says this about his struggle with sin… “…the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good. … Yet, I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do - I do not do… but what I hate - I do. It is sin living in me that does it. … Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God – through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Rom 7: 7 – 8:17)
Friends, always remember… all our sins (great and small) – without exception – were laid upon Jesus. He took the judgement we deserve. He completed the work of the world’s redemption on Calvary’s Cross. Salvation is complete in Christ’s death and resurrection. Though we may stumble in our walk of faith through this world… Jesus is always there to pick us up… to continue the journey. (MT 28:20)

It is that season of year in the Christian Church that we call Advent (the four weeks before Christmas).

Advent means “coming.” First off… the coming of God in Jesus - the Incarnation. The union of the Divine with human nature, in One Person. Secondly… in our time, each year we celebrate His coming to us long ago as a babe born in Bethlehem. And thirdly… Advent is about Jesus’ coming again, the return of Christ at the end times (resurrection and judgement). One could say… Advent is the season for the preparation of our souls to receive the coming of Christ – past, present, and future.

There is much “busyness” (preparation and celebration) in the secular world around us at this time of the year. It is mind boggling and spiritually draining… often not very fulfilling. Christians also can get so caught up in this “busyness” that they lose sight of the true meaning of Advent, as well as Christmas. Advent is a time to reflect upon our relationship with God. To pray about it – “waiting” actively - spiritually preparing our souls to receive Christ again. Getting ready to truly celebrate His coming at that first Christmas. And His coming again in that “Day of the Lord” known only to God. Are you weary, worn down with all the worldly “busyness” around you… often feeling empty? Is this what faith in Christ is all about?

Living in these post-Resurrection times, we are not alone. Jesus sends His Spirit. Christians are people of the future with a heart-felt focus on Eternity with Christ. He that is in you is greater… than he that is in the world. The power that was with Christ in His resurrection from the dead… is the same power given to believers at the moment of faith. I encourage you to walk closely with Jesus during this season of Advent. Welcome Christ more fully into your heart that you might truly celebrate His presence with you.

Love, joy, and peace to you.

Pastor Wayne.

I have been asked… “What is this site about?”

Briefly, Celebrate Christ Ministry (CCm), is about honoring, praising, glorifying Christ – lifting Him up - in every aspect of our daily lives. It’s all about Jesus… the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

A small team of believers established this Facebook account initially for promoting an evangelistic event this past summer. The event, “Come… Celebrate Jesus Christ” was held at Soldiers Field in Rochester, MN on July 15, 16, 17. Since then, we have been seeking to discern where the Holy Spirit may be leading us as we move forward.

For the present, I intend to use the site as a means to periodically submit brief messages encouraging viewers to continue to grow in their faith in Christ… to reach for a deeper, richer, more meaningful relationship with their Lord and Savior. And for those who may not yet know the Lord, to help them come to faith in Jesus Christ.

For all who may view this site, it is my prayer that God will guide and help us in this ministry; as together, we come to know our loving God and Savior more personally.

More to come...

Pastor Wayne.
