Eighteen members of First Church, including members of our youth group, gathered together at the Rochester Opera House to experience a mesmerizing performance of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat! The singing and dancing were incredible and the message was so positive; but spending time with our church family was the best!

It was a rainy, but wonderful day yesterday for the Stamp Out Hunger Drive done by the post office. Our pantry received a lot of non-perishables from the people of Rochester! We are so grateful to all who donated, the postal carriers who put so much work in and our very wet, but happy volunteers who picked up the food from the post office and brought it back to our church. Now to sort it and give it out to the guests at our pantry.

First Church Congregational, Rochester was bustling on May 2nd, when we had our spring yard sale! There were people lined up down the sidewalk awaiting all of the treasures inside. Also, there was a plant and garden supplies sale outside under the awning. As you can see, not many plants were left at the end. We love seeing our friends in the community and inviting them into our church!

It was another amazing evening at Rochester Fellowship Kitchen for the team from First Church Congregational! Our guests truly enjoyed our meal of oven baked baby back ribs, yummy potato salad, beans, green salad, fruit salad and delicious desserts. Our team with help from RFK regulars started the ribs at 9:00 am and worked hard to make this one of our best meals ever! Hard work and fun friends always make our time at RFK wonderful!

It was First Church Congregational team's turn to make the meal for the Rochester Fellowship Kitchen on this past Tuesday. It was a delicious meal of ham, macaroni salad, corn and split pea soup! Of course, as usual, there was green salad, fruit salad and desserts for everyone. We had volunteers from our church and volunteers from the kitchen who are always ready to help! Much gratitude to all those who showed up to help feed our neighbors!

First Church was hopping again today. Our wonderful team, the Parish Pancake Pals, cooked and served over 100 breakfasts to our tremendous guests who loved the meals of blueberry or plain pancakes, scrambled eggs and ham! There were also beautiful aprons sold in Apron Alley and a super looking basket with a basketball theme that was raffled off. Many of our team have been doing these breakfasts for a long time, but we welcomed some new volunteers, tool We LOVE welcoming new people into our church!

First Church Congregational had a truly inspiring Easter Service! The sanctuary was beautifully decorated with donated flowers and our He Is Risen banner. The bell choir rang "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today!" and the vocal choir sang "It's All Alleluia!" Each was such a triumphant song that celebrated our risen savior! Pastor Donna Muise's sermon celebrated Jesus' resurrection. In the Easter story the women ask, "Where have they taken Jesus?" Donna asked our congregation where we take Jesus in our everyday lives. How do we live out Jesus' teachings in our own lives? How can we be helpful, forgiving and kind to everyone around us, even those who aren't behaving that way toward us.
