Thanks to the generosity of St. Mary of the Hills parishioners, our St. Vincent de Paul conference collected 289 boxes of cereal to stock the shelves of the South Oakland Food Depot! The SOFD is a "special work" of SVdP Detroit located in the Madison Heights SVdP Thrift Store and serves our neighbors in need. Their patrons will be so grateful!

We invite you to listen with an open heart to our recruitment appeal at the end of Mass on September 19 & 20 to see if you might be able to join us in this mission grow in holiness, service, and fellowship. Due to continued power outages, St. Mary of the Hills is again closed today, 9/4/2026. The American Red Cross Blood Drive has been moved to Evanswood Church of God, 2601 E Square Lake Rd, Troy, MI 48085. Thank you for your patience! Knit & Pray Group starts up next Thursday, September 10, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM! Join the Knit & Pray Group to make prayer blankets, shawls, baby booties, baby hats, and many other hand-made items for those in need. You do not need to be a member of the St. Mary’s parish to participate. All skill levels, all people are welcome. (Can be any type of knitting, crocheting, sewing, etc. craft)

It is time for our Children's Village Birthday Gift Drive! September 12-20 we are collecting donations to help make birthdays extra special for the youth of Oakland County Children's Village.

Items Needed:
-Short sleeve crew neck t-shirts (athletic or sports themed, i.e. Champion, Nike, Michigan or Michigan State, etc.) in Adult sizes S - 3XL
-Uno and Phase 10 card games
-Gift Sets: men's and women's body wash and lotion (full size - no hotel samples please)
-Basketballs, footballs, and volleyballs
-Gift cards (Meijer, Target, and Amazon) - HIGH PRIORITY
-Art books/how to draw books (no spiral-bound books)
-Remote control cars
-Lego kits (Lego City and Lego 3 in 1 sets)
-Diamond dot kits
-Yarn (all colors)
-Puzzles (100-500 piece)
-Board games (Connect 4, Chess, Checkers, and Guess Who)

Please do not wrap items for security purposes. Gift bags are welcome!

Members of St. Mary of the Hills’ Senior Fellowship celebrated America’s 250 Birthday by enjoying a delicious dinner, dessert, friendship, raffle, and door prizes at the Alibi Restaurant in Troy. An abundance of Red, White, and Blue was visible and many compliments were received from staff and customers alike. This was just one of the many social activities we partake in.

If you would like to see what we are all about, please join us in the Fr. Strain Gym at 10:00 AM this coming Tuesday, September 8. We would be happy to see you smiling face!
