I want you to think about this question today and tonight before we head into church tomorrow and listen to the message. I don't need any answers here, just think deeply about it. What shapes your understanding of who God/Jesus is? I want you to be very honest with yourself about this answer and allow God to speak to you about it as well, and reveal what He sees. I can't wait to worship with you all tomorrow. See you at 10:30am EST and 9:30am for Sunday School! If you can make it in person make sure to catch service online through our website, church app, YouTube, or public page!

As we get ready and prepare for the start of Holy Week this Sunday, for Palm Sunday, be in prayer that God would give you a deeper understanding of what He did for us on the cross. We will start this week off this Sunday, looking at an overarching length of scripture in Matthew as we look at how the people went from Hosanna to Crucify Him in just a few days!

It’s Friday, and that means we are a day late for our “Church Family Spotlight”! Each week, we’ll be highlighting some of the amazing people who faithfully serve in our church. We hope that this not only gives well-deserved recognition to those who work so hard behind the scenes but also helps our community see some of the friendly faces that make our church family so special. If you’re thinking about visiting, you’ll already have a few familiar faces to look forward to seeing when you walk through our doors!

With October being Pastor Appreciation Month, we would love to spotlight Pastor Larry and his wife, Ruth, this week.

Pastor Larry is now retired from full-time ministry, but his impact through the history of this church is monumental. He was the lead pastor for a little over 20 years before transitioning to the children’s pastor role, where he remained until he retired. He has overseen tremendous growth in the church, not only in attendance and the building of the current church building we now reside in, but most importantly in spiritual development and in relationship with the people of this church. He loves people with all his heart and loves to tell people about Jesus. When talking to Pastor Larry, he will always make you feel important and that you matter. There are plenty of other things Pastor Larry has done to bless this church and the people here that are far too numerous to name. Feel free to list them in the comments below.

Ruth has had many roles over the years and has at times felt like the glue that has helped keep this church together with all the things she has helped with. Some notable areas included serving as the children’s director for many years and serving on the Nazarene Discipleship International board, which helps shape all the ministries in this church. Her service and input have been invaluable over the years. These are just a few of the things she has done for this church. She and Pastor Larry love their family very much, and you can always find them supporting their kids and grandkids in any way they can. They both love Jesus with all their heart, and you will definitely see that in their lives.

Though they may be retired from full-time ministry and less involved than they used to be, they are just as valuable to the future of this church as they were to its past. Please help me thank Pastor Larry and Ruth for all they do and have done by leaving an encouraging word for them in the comments and sharing any other ways they have blessed you, currently or over the years.

No matter how big your problem seems, there is nothing too big for God! Don't let your pride get in the way of an answered prayer!
How can we pray for you today?
We at Rochester Nazarene believe in the power of prayer because God’s Word promises us that we can boldly approach the throne of God.
"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” - Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Our prayer warriors are ready and committed to lift up every single request that comes in. Whether you’re facing a challenge, standing in faith for healing, praying for your family, or just need encouragement, you don’t have to walk through it alone.
👉 Drop your prayer requests in the comments below or send us a private message.
💙 Know that you will be prayed for, one by one, this week.
Let’s believe together that God hears and answers prayer! ✨

If you’ve been redeemed, this is your moment to speak.
Don’t hide. Don’t hold back. Tell the world what God has done for you.

Your testimony might be the light someone else needs today. 💡

With October being Pastor Appreciation Month, this week, we would love to spotlight Pastor Marshall’s wife, Rachel, and his three children, Gracie, Jack, and Ben.

A pastor’s job is not easy, and they can’t do what they need to do without a gracious family. Pastor Marshall has been blessed with a wonderful family who are kind, considerate, and understanding when it is time for him to do what needs to be done to help shepherd the congregation. That is just the tip of the iceberg on how incredible they are with all the other things they do to help bless this church.

Rachel is one of the teachers who teaches in our Kids’ Church. She also helps out in the youth group as an assistant. She has been an integral part of our worship team in the past. She has helped out during VBS, kids’ Christmas Program, and a host of other events. She is vitally essential to our church, and we, as a whole, couldn’t do what we need to do if she didn’t do what she does. Rachel loves her family dearly and can always be found doing what she can to help support each member of the family. She loves Jesus with all her heart and is a great example of a Godly wife and a Godly mother.

Gracie, Jack, and Ben are all still in high school, but don’t let that young age fool you; they are heavily involved in helping out at the church. Gracie has helped for several years in VBS and was one of the star actresses in our VBS skits. She has also helped out in our Christmas program. Jack and Ben have also helped out in VBS and the Christmas program. All three assist in Kids’ Church as helpers; they help set up and tear down for events in our gym and assist their dad with tasks around the church. All three love Jesus, which I know makes their parents proud. They are a tremendous blessing to our church family.

Please help me thank Rachel, Gracie, Jack, and Ben for all they do by leaving an encouraging word for them in the comments and sharing any other ways they have blessed you.
