Flowing from the Gospel itself, “Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). This feast honors Our Lady's interior life: wholly given to God, perfectly united to her Son’s mission. From the prophecy of Simeon to the foot of the Cross, her heart shares intimately in Christ’s suffering and love.
Devotion to her Immaculate Heart grew over centuries and was especially deepened through the messages at Our Lady of Fatima apparitions, where she called for prayer, repentance, and consecration. The Church formally established the feast in the 20th century, placing it immediately after the Sacred Heart to reflect their inseparable union.
Her heart leads us to His - formed in grace, faithful in suffering, and always pointing to Christ.
