We're going to be serving lunch at the Women and Children's Center in Pontiac on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning June 9th. We will help with a little food prep, and serve meals to guests on Perry Street, just 11 minutes from St. Irenaeus.

We welcome men, women, and children (ages 12 and up with parent) to join us. Try it once, or make it a monthly outing!

This month, the Pope's prayer intention is that everyone might have food.

When we lack food, our physical and mental health suffer. A child that goes to bed hungry wakes up anxious and depressed. Hunger erodes a person’s sense of safety and dignity.

Pope Leo XIV has said, “The hungry faces of so many who still suffer challenge us and invite us to reexamine our lifestyles, our priorities and our overall way of living in today’s world”. He says instead, “We must make their suffering our own.”

Let us pray that everyone be committed to ensuring that people everywhere have access to quality food that nourishes their body, mind, and spirit.
