Thank you, Steve, for coming back this year to play taps at 3PM on Memorial Day! It was so special to hear you beautifully play while standing near the gravestone of Sgt. Charles Yancey Trice who died during WW II. And it was a joy to meet your family too!

See you next year!

Last year a gentleman came to Rocheport Cemetery to play taps. Hope to see him again this year. What a memorable thing to see last year!

TAPS ACROSS AMERICA ORG
The National Moment of Remembrance Memorial Day 3 pm

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer—it is a day of solemn reflection dedicated to the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Originally known as Decoration Day, this tradition dates back to the Civil War, when families placed flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers.
In 2000, Congress established the National Moment of Remembrance, encouraging all Americans to pause at 3:00 PM local time for one minute of silence. Taps Across America extends this moment by inviting musicians to sound Taps in unison across the country.
By participating, you help ensure that the sacrifices of our fallen service members are never forgotten.
