It’s time for our annual effort to support the Festival of Sharing (FOS). FOS is an ecumenical response to poverty and hunger.

We usually prepare Missouri Reading and Writing Kits and CWS Hygiene Kits. I am including the kit contents and assembly instructions. If you would like to donate a kit or kits, we will be collecting them at church service this Sunday (September 6th), Community Coffee on September 16th, and church service September 20th. If you would prefer to make a monetary donation instead of assembling kits, please make your check payable to “MOAC” with “Festival of Sharing” in the memo line.

I’m a little late posting info and pictures from our church service last Sunday but I guess better late than never! Drew Dittmer and Allison Pease gave a very interesting presentation during the Children’s Moment about their experience living in Paraguay.

Tashi Merriman was a special guest musician and she provided beautiful harp solos for us! That is always a treat!

We also had a “Noisy Offering” to contribute to the Voluntary Action Center for their Back-to-School Program that distributes free backpacks filled with school supplies to qualifying local children. Everyone was asked to donate change for the “Noisy Offering” and we collected $120! Pretty good for a small church!!! Unfortunately, I was caught up in watching the kids collect the offering and making lots of noise by rattling it around in tin containers and I didn’t get video or pictures. Maybe next year!!

Don’t forget to bring your change Sunday for our “Noisy Offering!” All change will be donated to the Voluntary Action Center for their Back to School Program. Backpacks filled with school supplies are provided for students who need assistance. So, bring some change to help us make a lot of noise as we collect the change in cans!!

Great crowd last night at our Bluegrass/Gospel Sing-Along Service and the music provided by Good Turn Daily was wonderful!!! Our next Bluegrass service is planned for December 12th - Christmas Bluegrass. Mark your calendars and join us for a good time!!!
