Today, Sept. 3, the Church celebrates St. Gregory the Great, pope and Doctor of the Church. Remembered for his humble leadership, care for the poor and commitment to spreading the Gospel, St. Gregory helped shape the Church’s liturgy and strengthened its mission during a time of great change.

May his example inspire us to use our gifts in faithful service to God and one another.
⁣

Today, on the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation, we give thanks for the beauty of God’s handiwork and renew our commitment to care for our common home.

Let us pray:

Creator God,
we praise you for the earth and all it holds.
Open our eyes to the beauty of your creation,
teach us to use its gifts wisely
and help us protect it for generations to come.
May our care for the earth reflect our love for you
and our concern for all our neighbors.

Let us pray for the just and sustainable management of this precious resource, especially for those around the world who lack reliable access to clean and safe water. May we also recognize our own responsibility to care for creation and use its gifts wisely.

Bring it to prayer and ask for the grace to trust where Christ is leading you.

Following Jesus is more than believing in him — it is choosing his way each day. It means putting aside our own desires when they lead us away from God, carrying the crosses we are given and trusting Christ to walk with us through them.

Discipleship is not always easy, but we never carry the cross alone. May we have the courage to follow wherever Christ leads.
⁣
✝️ Jesus, give us the strength to take up our cross and follow you.

There is something profound about simply being in the presence of God. In the quiet of a church, before the tabernacle or in Eucharistic Adoration, we are invited to turn our attention away from the noise of the world and toward the One who knows and loves us completely.
⁣
May we make time this week to seek the Lord, rest in his presence and allow our hearts to be filled with his peace.
⁣
🙏 Lord, help us to keep our eyes fixed on you.

The life of St. Augustine is a powerful story of conversion and the restless human search for God. After years of searching for fulfillment elsewhere, Augustine encountered the grace of Christ and became one of the Church’s great bishops, theologians and Doctors of the Church.

His story reminds us that no matter where our journey has taken us, God never stops calling us closer to him.
May we, like Augustine, discover that our hearts find their true home in God.
