Happy Sunday, Families!!! Sending a quick reminder that registration for this summer’s Oil Belt camps opens up tomorrow morning at 10am! 🎉🎉🎉 (To register, visit oilbelt.com)

This year’s theme is “Glow Up!” where campers will explore what Scripture reveals to us about Heaven and the future awaiting God’s people. For those who trust in Christ, death is not the end—it’s the ultimate glow-up. The Bible teaches that believers will be transformed, receive glorified bodies, and live forever in the presence of God! 🙌💓🎉

While each camp is designed to be unique to each grade level in its message and camp activities, all working to speak into and nurture the hearts of those in attendance, this year, I have the privilege to specifically pray over and into the planning for the Footprints 2 camp (July 24-25) geared intentionally for incoming 2nd & 3rd graders!

If you have an incoming 2nd/3rd grader this coming school year, I would LOVE to have your child join me, as well as several others from HCC, during this upcoming camp event! 💓Additionally, if you are interested in attending camp alongside your child, we currently still have open service faculty group leader positions that are available to serve in! I would additionally LOVE the opportunity to serve alongside you to nurture, grow, and encourage each of the young hearts entrusted into our care during this event! (If interested in serving or if you have questions in regards to serving, please feel free to comment below or email me directly @ [email protected] so that I can help guide the best that I can!)

Registration for students and adult faculty both open tomorrow morning at 10am! (NOTE: Some camps fill rather quickly and campers and adult faculty will be registered on a first come basis!) If you have questions in regards to registration, feel free to contact Oil Belt’s camp office at 618-662-2822.

Have a wonderful Sunday evening and a blessed week ahead!

Coming up on Sunday, March 29th, we will host our first "Walk in the Light" Family Resurrection Celebration Event!

During this event, we will gather for a time of worship and teaching together as families to focus intentionally on setting our hearts and minds towards the remembrance and celebration of Christ's crucifixion and resurrection. We will engage in crafting and constructing glowing paper lanterns together within our gym area, and then, at 3:30pm, we will gather together again (with ALL of our Church family invited to join us in celebration and worship) for a glowing paper lantern parade and another time of special worship within our Auditorium. (Cookies and punch will also be served within our Lobby after our event.)

Family reservations for this event will run through our online Connection Card (located at hccrobinson.com) and will begin on Sunday, March 1st and run through Sunday, March 22nd! (Reservations only need to be made for families intending on creating paper lanterns.)

👀 ATTN: All Rte 33 parents and kiddos (but ESPECIALLY those of incoming 2nd/3rd graders! 👀)! 🎉

Oil Belt Christian Service Camp (Flora, IL) has officially published and announced their 2026 summer camp schedule, offering 22 camps this summer ranging from Kindergarten to adult!

This summer’s theme is “Glow Up!” where we will be learning together what the Bible tells us (and doesn’t necessarily reveal clearly to us) about what Heaven is going to be like. Conversations and planning amongst staff and deans have already begun and I’m super excited to invite all of our students to camp this summer, but specifically our incoming 2nd/3rd graders! (And, any parents interested in attending alongside me during our Footprints 2 camps for this specific age range on July 24th-25th!)

Camp registration will open for students across the area on March 2nd! Definitely mark your calendars today, as some camps fill up VERY quickly!

However, if you are a parent (or grandparent, or high school student) who is interested in joining me during the Footprints 2 camp for area 2nd/3rd graders (or just have questions about what serving at Oil Belt looks like), I would LOVE to answer questions and/or place you on my List of Leaders to be included in this time of planning and preparation! (!!!) So far, I have 3 other HCC volunteers joining me! I would love to add you to the list!

To give a brief idea about what our 2nd/3rd graders camp will look like, we will have times of worship, times of learning, times of games and free play, times for swimming, a time for arts/crafts, times to highlight a specific mission focus (last year, we were able to invite and highlight the Jones family with Encourage Puerto Rico, and this year, I’m hoping that the Dix family will be able to join us to highlight and share about NRN - Nicaragua Resource Network! 🎉). We will have a “glow” theme, so think of fun glow sticks and neon decor and attire! Student groups will be formed with both male and female students (generally at a 1 to 4 ratio of leaders to students…so you will not be the only leader in a group if you are interested in serving as a group leader), but dorms are established during our overnight stay with females (students and leaders) staying in one dorm and males (students and leaders) staying in an entirely separate dorm.

FUN, LEARNING, and RELATIONAL BUILDING will be had by all!

If you have any questions, or would like to secure your spot as an accompanying group leader, please reach out via message or email and I would love to help guide or get you signed up (as a group leader) TODAY! 😊🎉🥳🤩

Additionally, we do have an Oil Belt representative planning on joining us at the end of February during our Sunday morning services who will additionally explain what the camp experience looks like to our students, as well as answer any questions they might have before registration opens up on March 2nd. For additional information about Oil Belt’s mission and about their facilities, feel free to check them out at oilbelt.com 😊

Good morning families!
I pray that each of you and your families are safe and warm this morning in the midst of the extremely cold temperatures and continual snowfall. 🙏

Despite the inclement weather and the cancellation of our physical gathering in order to lovingly promote safety in these specific conditions, we will continue to open up reservations this morning via our online Connection Card (located at hccrobinson.com) for our annual “Because He First Loved Us” Family Valentine’s Event.

Due to today’s physical cancellation, we will keep our reservations link up and running through Wednesday of this week (Jan. 28th), so please help us share the word and this invitation! This is such a fun and unique time of fellowship, learning, and blessing others! 💓

Details about this event include a family fellowship luncheon immediately following the dismissal of our 10:30am service, a brief, kid-friendly lesson on God’s ultimate love for us and how we can share His love with others in both blessing and teaching, the creation of a simple craft together (our craft this year is the flower bouquet pictured below), and then the super fun and highlighting opportunity for our kids each year of loading up on our HCC bus (parents generally follow in their own vehicles or join our kids on the bus) in order to visit and hand deliver our crafts to individuals who are currently living at Brookstone, a local assisted living facility there in Robinson.

(And, if your little ones are planning on attending the annual tea party event in Palestine following our Valentine’s event, feel free to allow your little ones to come Sunday morning already wearing their tea party attite! 🥰 I’m sure that the residents at Brookstone would absolutely enjoy additionally seeing and hearing all about their exciting day! 💓)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Again, online reservations for this event will run this morning through Wednesday of this week (Jan. 25th - 28th) via our online Connection Card located on our webpage at hccrobinson.com.

Have a warm, safe, and blessed Sunday together within your homes and we will excitedly await to see each of you again next weekend! 🥰

With His Love,
Kim
