👀 ATTN: All Rte 33 parents and kiddos (but ESPECIALLY those of incoming 2nd/3rd graders! 👀)! 🎉
Oil Belt Christian Service Camp (Flora, IL) has officially published and announced their 2026 summer camp schedule, offering 22 camps this summer ranging from Kindergarten to adult!
This summer’s theme is “Glow Up!” where we will be learning together what the Bible tells us (and doesn’t necessarily reveal clearly to us) about what Heaven is going to be like. Conversations and planning amongst staff and deans have already begun and I’m super excited to invite all of our students to camp this summer, but specifically our incoming 2nd/3rd graders! (And, any parents interested in attending alongside me during our Footprints 2 camps for this specific age range on July 24th-25th!)
Camp registration will open for students across the area on March 2nd! Definitely mark your calendars today, as some camps fill up VERY quickly!
However, if you are a parent (or grandparent, or high school student) who is interested in joining me during the Footprints 2 camp for area 2nd/3rd graders (or just have questions about what serving at Oil Belt looks like), I would LOVE to answer questions and/or place you on my List of Leaders to be included in this time of planning and preparation! (!!!) So far, I have 3 other HCC volunteers joining me! I would love to add you to the list!
To give a brief idea about what our 2nd/3rd graders camp will look like, we will have times of worship, times of learning, times of games and free play, times for swimming, a time for arts/crafts, times to highlight a specific mission focus (last year, we were able to invite and highlight the Jones family with Encourage Puerto Rico, and this year, I’m hoping that the Dix family will be able to join us to highlight and share about NRN - Nicaragua Resource Network! 🎉). We will have a “glow” theme, so think of fun glow sticks and neon decor and attire! Student groups will be formed with both male and female students (generally at a 1 to 4 ratio of leaders to students…so you will not be the only leader in a group if you are interested in serving as a group leader), but dorms are established during our overnight stay with females (students and leaders) staying in one dorm and males (students and leaders) staying in an entirely separate dorm.
FUN, LEARNING, and RELATIONAL BUILDING will be had by all!
If you have any questions, or would like to secure your spot as an accompanying group leader, please reach out via message or email and I would love to help guide or get you signed up (as a group leader) TODAY! 😊🎉🥳🤩
Additionally, we do have an Oil Belt representative planning on joining us at the end of February during our Sunday morning services who will additionally explain what the camp experience looks like to our students, as well as answer any questions they might have before registration opens up on March 2nd.
