WHAT GOING UNDER THE WATER ACTUALLY SAYS ABOUT YOU

We practice baptism because of obedience. That's the first thing stepping into that water says about you: you're following Jesus.

When you go under, you're saying, "My old life has died with Christ."

Under the water you're making three declarations: sin doesn't own me, shame doesn't define me, and my past isn't final.

Coming up says you've been raised to new life with Christ: a new identity, a new purpose, and a new direction.

Your sins are washed away, you're clean, and you get a new start. You tell the story of Christ with your own story. You died with Christ, you were raised with Christ, and now you belong to Christ.

THREE THINGS FOLLOWING JESUS WILL ACTUALLY COST YOU

Following Christ and obeying the Holy Spirit is usually the opposite of what we want to do. Overflow will cost you everything.

The call of Christianity is not come and find yourself. The call is come and die. Come and die to yourself.

First, your comfort. It will cost you your preferences, your comfort, and the way you want to do things.

Second, your time. It will cost you your schedule, and it will cost you your time.

Third, your money. It will cost you that too, because overflow will cost you everything.

Lay it all down, step out of the driver's seat, and the Holy Spirit steps in. That's the good news.

He fills you with love, power, peace, hope, and joy, all the things this world can't give. He heals you. He restores your family. He opens doors no man can open.

Jesus came to bring dead people back to life. Overflow will cost you everything, and it will give you more than you can imagine. Are you looking for life? You've come to the right place.
