The link below should take you to this week's Bible Lesson "The Christian View of Recreation" from Colonial Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. The Scripture comes from several sources but mainly from Mark 2:18-28. Mark tells us that Jesus answered the question of why the disciples were plucking grain from a field on the Sabbath with a metaphorical story suggesting there are exceptions to the rules. The main thought of the lesson centers around praying and playing on the sabbath, thus creating a balance on our lives. We hope you find our lesson uplifting. Blessings, Jim Sargent

The link below should take you to this week's Bible Lesson "A Christian Spirit in Industry" from Colonial Presbyterian Church in Roanoke. The Scripture comes from Deuteronomy 24:14-21, Ephesians 6:5-9, and 1 Timothy 6:17-19. Scripture tells us that poverty and the poor occur in all societies, but the ancient Israelites built a structure into their society to allow the poor to glean some of the harvest. Throughout the Bible we see a special concern for justice and for the poor, dating to the days of Moses. We hope you find our lesson interesting and uplifting. Blessings, Jim Sargent
