In worship last Sunday, we heard Sarah laugh at God's promise to her. The Lord responds "Is anything too hard for the Lord?"
Have you ever had a hard time believing God's promises to you? Has it ever been hard for you to trust God by letting go?

On what many call "Hump Day" because it can feel like it's a struggle getting over the hump of midweek, take time today to redirect from the challenges of the week and pivot to counting the blessings of our struggles. While work may feel like a chore, let us thank God for the blessing of a job. While the chores like washing dishes, doing laundry, and cooking may feel daunting, let us thank God for clean water, clothes to wash, and food to cook with.
Loving God, thank you for all the "struggles" in our week. Let us remember and pray for those who pray to have the struggles we have. Let us rememer the days we prayed for the things we have. Amen.

Heavenly Father, Creator of all times and places, we thank You for the gift of summertime—the days of light, warmth, and renewed energy. As we step into this new season, give us the grace to see Your hand in the beauty of nature around us. May this season bring refreshment to our minds and bodies, and may our souls be warmed by the awareness of Your presence. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

Today we pause to honor Juneteenth-a powerful reminder of freedom, faith, and the work still ahead. Juneteenth is more than a date on the calendar; it's a divine call to live in the fullness of the freedom God has given us and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Let us stand together in love, hope, and unity, continuing to walk in the light of God's purpose for all His children. We pray for peace, healing within our community, and a world that sees through God's eyes.
However you chose to pause to honor today, make sure you do so in the full understanding of what this day is about, how it came to be a national holiday, and what it means to others in our community.

In worship last Sunday we read Romans 4:13-18. In this passage, we hear Law, Righteousness, Faith, Grace, and Hope all together. These five terms form the core theological framework of Christian doctrine, describing our relationship with God.
When praying on this passage, what do you gather from this passage in scripture? How do you see these 5 intertwined throughout our beliefs?

In worship last Sunday we read Genesis 12:1-10, God's many promises to Abraham. He made a covenant with Abraham. Have you ever made a promise to someone? When you did so, how seriously did you take it?
The promises that God made to Abraham were a covenant-not to be taken lightly. We often hear the phrase "the patience of Job", but maybe we need to coin the phrase "the faith of Abraham". Abraham is a true testimate to unwavering trust in God's promises. He believed in the impossible and obeyed God's instruction.
The next time you make a promise, try remembering the promises of God and don't be quick to make what Mary Poppins referred to as, "...a piecrust promise. Easily made, easily broken." – Mary Poppins (1964)

Loving.God, please bless our youth & our chaperones Melissa Scott and Brennon Viele as they head off to Lees-McRae College for a week of Passport Missions Camp. May you enrich them through service. May they feel your presence as they spend time learning connecting, and doing Mission projects. Please keep them safe in their travels and deliver them back home to us safely. In Jesus name we pray.
