1 Cor. 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

God gives the worldly people exactly what they ask for, people just like them. When you refuse Him, He'll let you go your way. True love isn't forced.

1 Cor. 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

These "base things" are those little things of the world & this is what God has chosen to let bring the worldly people down. Stock market crash? It brings them down because they don't want to see what is truly important in life. Don't have enough money to go to the movies, but your cigs? You have no real focus on what is real.

1 Cor. 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

People should wake up in the morning & see the blessing of life God has given them & keep that frame of mind throughout the whole day, but the worldly people refuse to see any blessing from God as that from Him. It's a me, remote control society.

These things aren't foolishness to us, Real Christians. These things have given us true peace, the only peace you can have in an evil world. We have the surety of the cross & the blood has given us life everlasting. There's power in the blood & wisdom in The Word.

Jeremiah 9:23-24 "Thus saith the Lord, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth Me, that I am the Lord Which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord."

1 Cor. 2:1 And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

Paul reminds them when he came he didn't come with big words or with confusing speech while teaching them about Christ.

Paul did come with a bunch of his story's or own self serving words, but to teach the purpose of Christ. Hebrews 2:14; "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil;"

He didn't use tricks to catch people into hearing God's Word. He taught The Truth & let The Truth catch the people's attention.

You can truly count on God. Yes there are good people out there, but humans can & will let you down, God will NEVER let you down when you have faith in Him.

satan is the prince of this world age & he has many followers. These followers have created many salvation's of their own, none of which have any truth in them or ways to life. satan is all death, it's after all one of his many names.

1 Cor. 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

God has chosen some souls to be here in this period of time because of the things they have done in the 1st earth age. This is that mystery spoken of here. Remember our study in Romans. Refresh yourself. There are many verse that show us a time before this flesh.

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."

Ephesians 1:4-5 "According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundations of this world [this earth age], that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,"

2 Peter 3:4-7 "And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: [1st age]
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, [This flesh age] by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."
