Friends, some of our churches have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel Christmas Eve services today. Frozen pipes, power outages, and struggling heat systems are among the causes. Check with your nearby United Methodist Church to get updates. Some churches are offering online worship celebrations for Christmas Eve. If you know someone who needs a warming shelter:

Giles County will be making warming centers available to the public until 10 p.m. December 23 and from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. December 24. Residents needing to use these facilities will need to contact Giles County Emergency Services at 540-235-2003 and leave a voicemail to get a call back with further instructions.

ROANOKE County., Va. - A warming shelter will be available from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 24 at South Co. Library (6303 Merriman Road) for individuals to also have coffee and charge phones.

As Winter Camp begins keep the children and youth attending and the staff leaders in your prayers as they grow in their faith.

We are so excited to welcome 84 campers to Alta Mons in just 2 days! Our Winter Camp theme is “Light & Love” and will focus on both the light and love that Jesus brought and calls us to share in the world.

Camp Alta Mons near Shawsville (in the Valley Ridge District) is looking for two old-style wooden tables to help extend their ability to serve youth!

The tables are 36 inches wide and 96 inches long, and are 30 inches tall. See photos to give you an idea!
