We wrapped a wonderful 4-night Evening VBS, “Paying Attention to God in Daily Life,” with Dr. John McCall! We’re so grateful for a week filled with learning, laughter, and faith as we explored prayer, scripture, community, and service—gifts that help us grow closer to God and one another.

The grand finale was our children’s original play, “Pay Attention” led by Meghan Griffith, and they absolutely amazed us. With song, comedy, and deep inspiration, it was the perfect ending to an incredible week.

A heartfelt thank you to our Food Services Committee, musicians, and countless volunteers who made this week so special!

And yes, attendees also enjoyed a special guest appearance by “Charles Sabbatical,” who continues to demonstrate that being away and being present are not always mutually exclusive.

Mac the Yak, the adventure-loving mascot of the Salem RidgeYaks, came to visit our preschoolers today for some fun and smiles. Church staff couldn’t resist taking a break to say hello, too! We’d call it a grand slam of a visit! ⚾️

Inside, you’ll find details about our summer worship schedule, upcoming youth opportunities for mission and fellowship, and the welcome of both our Summer Pastoral Intern and a new member into the life of our church community.

There are many opportunities to stay connected in the months ahead. Evening VBS, “Paying Attention to God in Daily Life” with Dr. John McCall, takes place June 7–10, and registration for August's Churchwide Retreat has been extended through June 12! You’ll also find details on July’s children’s Morning VBS, “Joseph’s Journey” with After Care Camps, an important reminder about staying alert to phishing scams, and an early invitation to save the date for our Rally Day Picnic at summer’s end.

May this summer season bring renewed joy in worship, fellowship, and the shared life of our church community.
