If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9, NIV)
We often say that Jesus is King and Lord of our lives, but what does that truly mean for us day to day?
If Jesus is really Lord, then He is not just part of our lives; He leads them. Yet honestly, it’s worth asking ourselves: are we giving Him our best or just our leftovers?
Take a serious look at your calendar. Look at where your paycheck goes, where your energy is spent, what occupies your thoughts and priorities. Where does Jesus fit? Is He directing the course of your life, or does He only get the time and attention that remain after everything else is done?
Those questions can be uncomfortable, but they are important. Following Jesus is more than words we say on Sunday — it’s a daily surrender of our hearts, our plans, our time, and our resources.
So here’s the challenge for all of us: let’s make sure Jesus is truly Lord of our lives. Let’s give Him not what is left over, but our best — our trust, our obedience, our priorities, and our whole hearts. Because a King deserves more than convenience; He deserves our all.
