It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve as your KOVAR President for the last three years. It has been a lot of work but rewarding beyond comparison.

Please welcome Vance Stewart as the next President (effective July 1, 2026). I will stay on the Board as a member, and I am excited to see what the next few years brings! Our best days are ahead of us!

Please also continue to pray for us as we work for Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities.

KOVAR has been providing great assistance to Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities since 1971. KOVAR could not do it without the support of so many generous individuals, Knights of Columbus Councils, and organizations donating their time, talent, and treasure. KOVAR is also grateful for the assistance of so many parish pastors like Father Mike Renninger of St. Mary's in Henrico County. Recently KOVAR President, Eddie Whitlock, and Vice-President of Home Loans, Mike Szablak, presented Fr. Mike a plaque recognizing him as the honoree of a recent grant.

How was your Saturday? Mine was great. I had the honor of presiding over my last Board meeting of KOVAR Corporation, as I completed three years as President – I will continue as a Board member. KOVAR is a Virginia Knights of Columbus charity assisting Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities. Following our Board meeting I had the opportunity to meet some of the athletes participating in the Virginia Special Olympics at the University of Richmond and even had the opportunity to present medals. It warms the heart!

KOVAR is blessed to work with so many Virginia Knights of Columbus Councils, and so many dedicated KOVAR Chairman, like Peter Delogu of Council 9953, Our Lady of Lourdes in Glen Allen. KOVAR President Eddie Whitlock was able to recognize Peter for all his work (and that of Council 9953) by making Peter the honoree of a KOVAR grant made to The Skills Development Center in Glen Allen.

KOVAR greatly appreciates the work of Commonwealth Autism in its shared mission to assist Virginians with Intellectual Disabilities. KOVAR recently made a grant to Commonwealth Autism in the amount of $14,400. KOVAR VP of Home Loans, Mike Szablak, presented an honoree plaque to Mr. Tyler Hart, Commonwealth Autism CEO. The honoree is Past Grand Knight Clint Corry of Council 395 in Henrico County. Clint and Council 395 have been long-time supporters of KOVAR. Presenting his plaque is KOVAR Board Member Rick Witty, and KOVAR President Eddie Whitlock.
