Had a great time studying the book of Philemon at our Wednesday night sermon discussion group on 8/26/26! Thank you for “sharpening me” all these Wednesday nights as we’ve met over the years to study the Word of God together. "Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another." Proverbs 27:17

TODAY IN GRBC HISTORY

Most of you are benefactors of a small group of people who sought to be faithful to the Great Commission 60 years ago. It was on this day, July 3, 1966, that GRBC held its first official worship service in the basement of the house on our property.

The journey has had many ups and downs--much like our own personal journeys have experienced. But the one thing that has withstood the many challenges is that GRBC remains faithful to the Word of God.

We are not a perfect church, but we are a family of believers who have stood on the core gospel pillars--Salvation is received by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, in Christ Alone, as revealed in Scripture Alone, all to the Glory of God Alone.

As we celebrate 250 years as a nation, GRBC can also celebrate the birth of our faith family 60 years ago. May we continue to shine the light of the gospel brightly in the Roanoke Valley and beyond. Let's put away those things that would entangle us and distract us from the gospel mission.

Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus until you cross the finish line! Run with the goal of hearing one day, "Well done, My good and faithful servant." All glory be to Christ!

We are excited to have our dear brother, Rick Via, preaching at GRBC this Sunday, July 5. His sermon text will be Matthew 16:13-19. Read that passage prior to Sunday's worship gathering to prepare your heart. Invite someone to worship with you! Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
