Brothers and Sisters,
I hope this note finds you doing well and living with our King and Savior in mind.
As you likely know, tomorrow, five members of our family will travel to a place of great lostness.
Before I have limited ability to communicate, I wanted to share a few things on my heart.
First, please pray for us. While we are there, we hope to become more familiar with the work of our friends and encourage them in it. We want to be helpful, wise, and discerning. We would also appreciate your prayers for health, safety, and security throughout the trip.
Second, this Sunday is a fifth Sunday. As I have shared before, fifth Sundays can sometimes be challenging for a church budget because families are understandably stretching their resources to cover an extra week.
Over time, these fluctuations usually balance out. However, with the renovation on the horizon and banks currently evaluating our church's finances to determine the terms of any loan we may need, I want to encourage us all to remain receptive to the Spirit's leading in both our living and our giving.
Finally, I simply want to say that I love you and thank God for you. Your generosity, faithfulness, and willingness to sacrifice for the advance of the gospel continue to encourage me.
As I was removing information from my phone for security purposes before this trip, I stumbled across a copy of a vision message I preached in January 2017. I was struck by prayers for a thriving kids ministry with a consolidated and secure place for children, prayers for God to bless us with a multiethnic family of faith, prayers for missionaries to be raised up from within our church and sent to the nations, and prayers for opportunities to join God's work in the Valley and around the world.
As I reflected on those prayers, I was reminded how faithfully God has answered them. He is doing all these things and graciously allowing us to have a part in His kingdom coming on earth as it is in heaven.
Thank you for the privilege of serving King Jesus alongside you. It is a joy to be your pastor, and I look forward to being back with you very soon.
In His abounding love,
Pastor Daniel
