Virginia Youth & Discipleship would like to say a heartfelt thank you to every pastor, church, youth ministry, leader, and layperson who helped us raise $36,800 for missions in Africa!

Every offering, fundraiser, prayer, and act of generosity helped make this possible. We are deeply grateful for the way churches across Virginia came together to support this mission and make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

A special shout-out to Valley Church and Pastor Jason Cook for placing among the top 50 churches in giving across the Church of God! Thank you for leading with such generosity and vision.

To everyone who prayed, gave, promoted, and participated—thank you! We could not have accomplished this without you.

Virginia Youth & Discipleship pastors and leaders, please note that the 2026 Ministers Meeting has been moved to October 1–2 to help provide greater hotel availability for our ministers.

Kara Powell shared a sobering reality: “1 out of 4 teenagers say AI knows them better than the people closest to them.” That makes her next statement even more significant: “If there’s no someone to make you feel known, you’ll turn to something.”

This is why mentoring in our homes and local churches matters. We cannot let social media and AI—the “something”—replace the “someone” God intended to help shape a generation.

Parents, youth leaders, family members, and church members: find a student and be that someone in their life. Mentor1 student and watch how your life will also grow because you gave of yourself.

As we look ahead and continue building our 2027 Virginia Youth & Discipleship calendar, we’re making a few adjustments to our upcoming schedule.

Girls Day and VYLA will not take place during the remainder of 2026. Both events are being moved to new dates in 2027, and we’re excited to share those with you as soon as the calendar is finalized!

We’re excited about what’s ahead for Virginia Youth & Discipleship. Thank you for your flexibility as we work to create the best possible calendar for our students, leaders, churches, and families.

You spend so much of the year pouring into the next generation. The NYLA Conference is an opportunity for you to be refreshed, equipped, sharpened, and connected!

I would love for us to bring a strong Virginia delegation to NYLA this year. To help make that possible, the Virginia Youth Discipleship Department will cover the conference registration fee for a limited number of attendees.
