Unity of Roanoke Valley

Unity of Roanoke Valley Our Mission: To inspire positive change in our spiritual lives and in the world. Mr. As Unity implies, we celebrate diversity.

Our Vision for the World: Centered in God, we embrace a world of love, peace and abundance for all. Unity was founded in the early 1890’s by Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, not to be a separate church or religious denomination, but as a spiritual movement within religions, dedicated to helping people of all faiths apply positive spiritual principles to better their lives. Fillmore wrote: “Unity is a

link in the great educational movement inaugurated by Jesus Christ; our objective is to discern the truth in Christianity and prove it. The truth that we teach is not new; neither do we claim special revelations or discovery of new religious principles. Our purpose is to help and teach mankind to use and prove the eternal Truth taught by the Master.”

Unity is called “practical Christianity” because it provides workable ideas and tools for daily living according to the principles of Jesus Christ. Our basic text is the Bible, interpreted historically and metaphysically, and we also explore other religious teachings as well as current writings that support us in living life with love, forgiveness, and non-judgment. Everyone is welcome – all religious, chronological, racial, ethnic, sexual and cultural orientations are expressions of God. Unity ministry offers prayer support, spiritual counseling, weddings, memorials, home and hospital visitation, volunteer opportunities, spiritual education for children and adults, a bookstore, lending library, outdoor labyrinth, playgrounds and picnic area, on 26 glorious acres.

Body Mind Spirit Fest 2026
Serene Sunday, June 7th

Small Things Coffee & Thrift opens @ 10:00 am - grab one of their specialty drinks before the Sunday service at 11:00am!

About Small Things Coffee & Thrift: My two favorite things in life are thrifting and coffee so why not combine them? I have been wanting to open my own coffee shop for about 5 years now and had the idea to start as a trailer first. My experience in the restaurant industry has taught me that the smallest things matter most when it comes to delivering excellent service and products. And funny enough, my last name is Small, so there birthed the name of my coffee & thrift trailer- Small Things. We curate warm and intentional experiences, whether it’s enjoying a drink made with homemade syrup, finding a whimsical pair of earrings, or just a delightful conversation. We do the small things that make a big difference.

Rev. Luz Lecour
Senior Minister @ URV
The Treasure You’re Already Standing On:
The Parables of The Hidden Treasure & The Pearl of Great Price

Sometimes the spiritual journey encourages us to look again at what we thought we already knew. This Sunday, June 7th, Rev. Luz will share two of Jesus’ parables that awaken us to the treasure within our own lives and invite us to claim it. If you’re ready to reconnect with your purpose, your joy, or your spiritual center, we encourage you to be with us. There is treasure waiting to be uncovered. Bring a friend and enjoy a glorious outdoor service under the trees. Note: In case of inclement weather, we will move to the Rose Garden Patio under the big tent.

We are not livestreaming this Sunday - join us in person! Click this link (https://www.youtube.com/) to watch previously recorded services. Remember to Like, Subscribe, and turn on Notifications for our YouTube channel.

From Your Music Director

Music is such an intrinsic part of our services that I thought we would highlight some of the Unity Music Volunteers and guest musicians who give of their time, talent, and treasure throughout the year. While these volunteers and guest musicians vary widely in experience, training, and style, each is committed to service and brings a deep love of music to Unity of Roanoke Valley each week.

Please join with me, Rev. Luz Lecour, and the Board in acknowledging them. I am so grateful for the opportunity to make music with them all!

Keep a Song in Your Heart,
Janice

What is Inspired Living Saturday?

It's TODAY - the Second day of Body Mind Spirit Fest and so much more ...

On Saturday, you'll enter the event through the front doors, surrounded by bubbles and butterflies. The day comes alive with engaging lectures and presentations, a community drum circle, and our gently used metaphysical book sale, where you set the price. Engage with our talented readers, browse a wide selection of crystals, jewelry, clothing, essential oils, and more. Embrace the energy and relax into a healing treatment with our energy workers and massage therapists. Enjoy a variety of delicious food offerings available throughout the day, then unwind beneath the big tent in the Rose Garden. Here, you’re more than a guest—you’re home, surrounded by kindred spirits in a space filled with openness, curiosity, and inspiration.
