Thought for the day 02/26/2022

“Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.””
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭1:6-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them. “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Mose

As a Christian, you should know that there is only One Source of power.

That power is shared equally among all believers that claim and exercise the power.

This power is just the same as your gifts from God. If you don't exercise your gifts, they do you nor God any good.

Let's begin our study with the teaching of Christ.

.

LUKE 10:18
"And He said unto them, "I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.""

This is looking forward to the coming of spurious messiah de facto in the sixth trump.

Should you be afraid of antichrist at that time and his evil spirits that exist today?

LUKE 10:19
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Christ gives you power over serpents, or evil spirits, and the scorpions of Revelation Chapter 9.

Check out the second word "power" in this verse in your Strong's Concordance.
It is different than the first "power" in this verse in the manuscripts. You will find it is from the Greek word "dunamis" (doo-nam-is) and means 'miraculous power'.

Yes, Christ even gives you power over the supernatural power of antichrist.

I hope you find this as reassuring as I do.

Take names, and kick dragon!

Doing so, "in the name of Jesus Christ", of course.

.

LUKE 10:20
"Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven."

.

If your name is not written in heaven, you do not have the power to begin with.

The only way to obtain the power is to love and serve the Lord.

Let's turn to Luke 22. Even the twelve disciples had difficulty dealing with power.

.

LUKE 22:24-25

[24] "And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest."

[25] "And He said unto them, "The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.""

The subjects of the king think the king really is something.

After all, he is the "head duck".

Listen to the wisdom of Christ.

LUKE 22:26-27

[26] "But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve."

[27] "For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.""

Those that serve God receive the greatest power of all. The Son of God spiritually feeds us with the Word.

LUKE 22:28-29

[28] "Ye are they which have continued with Me in My temptations."

[29] "And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as My Father hath appointed unto Me;"

The Kingdom of God is Promised to those that serve the Father.

You see, the power we have been talking about is to be used against the enemy, not each other.

We are all servants.

LUKE 22:30
"That ye may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel."

Fantastic!

Spiritually, God's table is huge.

There is a seat at that table for each of His children that deserves one.

Even the disciples had to be careful not to let their ego's get carried away with the power.

You also need to be on guard.

Satan's favorite trick is to utilize your ego against you. Use the power humbly and wisely. Always remember, it really isn't your power at all.

Some try to misuse the power.

Let's look at an example.

.

ACTS 8:9-10

[9] "But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:"

[10] "To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, 'This man is the great power of God.'"

Comparing any man to God is dangerous.
This man was not Simon Peter.

He would compare to those that work magic from pulpits today.

You can also compare him to the drug pushers that control their victims' lives.

ACTS 8:11-12

[11] "And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries."

[12] "But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women."

The people heard of the Real Power of God, and Simon lost his crowd.

ACTS 8:13
"Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done."

Simon decided to follow the crowd.

He wanted to know how Philip performed the miracles and signs.

Simon didn't realize that it wasn't Philip's power.

ACTS 8:14-15

[14] "Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:"

[15] "Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:"

They prayed that the Holy Spirit would give them the cloven tongue that every ear could understand as they had received on Pentecost Day.

ACTS 8:16-17

[16] "(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)"
.

[17] "Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost."

Simon thought this would be a neat act to add to his bag of tricks. He probably was already thinking of buying a bigger tent.

ACTS 8:18
"And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,"

You cannot buy the Power of God.

ACTS 8:19-20

[19] "Saying, 'Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost'."

[20] "But Peter said unto him, 'Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money'."

This Simon is the origin of the English word "simony".

Simony is the buying or selling of God's Power.

Don't do it!

We are going to turn to Chapter 26, and pick it up with Paul defending himself before king Agrippa. He was explaining what happened on the road to Damascus.

ACTS 26:14
"And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, "Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.""

Saul, later renamed Paul, was persecuting Christ and Christians. Paul might has well have taken his shoe off and kicked a cactus.

ACTS 26:15-16

[15] "And I said, 'Who art thou, Lord?' And He said, "I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.""

[16] "But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;""

Paul would go on to write a great deal of the New Testament.

ACTS 26:17-18

[17] "Delivering thee from the People, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,"

[18] "To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me.""

You mean Satan has power?

You had better believe Satan has power.

And his power will 'eat your lunch', if you don't have and use the Power of God.

Know your enemy.

Know the weapons you have at your disposal to fight your enemy.

Order Satan and evil out of your life in the name and Power of Jesus Christ.

Let's turn to Colossians.

COLOSSIANS 1:9-10

[9] "For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;"

[10] "That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;"

To have knowledge of His Will and be fruitful you must increase your knowledge of God's Word.

COLOSSIANS 1:11-13

[11] "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffermg with joyfulness;"

[12] "Giving thanks unto the Father, Which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:"

[13] "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son;"

Spiritually, darkness prohibits us from seeing or understanding.

Removing the power of darkness gives us eyes to see and ears to understand.

In conclusion, let's skip to Chapter 2.
Pay close attention to these last few verses.
You may be throwing away everything we have learned in this lesson, if you don't.

COLOSSIANS 2:2
"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ,"

Do you want to know the mystery of God?

It's right here, friends.

COLOSSIANS 2:3-4

[3] "In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."

[4] "And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words."

Don't allow any man to deceive you.

Focus on God's Word.

His Word will never lead you astray.

COLOSSIANS 2:5-6

[5] "For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ,"

[6] "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him;"

Walk through this life as He showed the Way.

Don't get sidetracked.

You can forget about having access to His Power, if you don't do things His Way.

I am talking about blessings removed and a lot of darkness ahead.

COLOSSIANS 2:7-8

[7] "Rooted and built up in Him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving,"

[8] "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ:"

This scripture reminds me of all of the recent fuss made over the red heifer.

The red heifer has absolutely nothing to do with prophecy concerning the end times.

In fact, it would be an insult to Christ for you to even have such a thought.

Christ and the Word are all the signs we need.

Wake up!

We are nearing the battle.

COLOSSIANS 2:9-10

[9] "For in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,"

[10] "And ye are complete in Him, Which is the head of all principality and power:"

God is all Powerful.

When you love and serve Him. you have access to that Power.

Claim the Power, and exercise the Power.

Satan will have a feast on you, your family and everything important in your life, if you don't use the Power of God!

"Do Christians Have To Obey The Laws Of The Land?"

As we march further toward the final hours of this age of flesh we now see the rights of Christians in this once blessed nation being removed. Which begs the question, as Christians are we to obey the laws of the land?

We will get to that in a moment. But let us back up to July 27th 2015 when a major benchmark was set on our Father’s time clock.

(see: Abomination: The United States Becomes As S***m And Gomorrah). Here; https://worldeventsandthebible.com/current-events/united-states-becomes-as-sodom-gomorrah

We witnessed a ruling come down from the Supreme Court stating homosexual marriage should be legal in all fifty states. Now let me point out, the Supreme Court does not make laws, they simply offer an opinion of them.

Yet, the government has enforced an opinion as law, and the government claims the Supreme Court ruling means homosexual marriage must now be legalized by the fifty states.

Let me ask you, what is the law of this land?

The Constitution of course.

So what does the Constitution say regarding the right of the states?

“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” – Tenth Amendment https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/tenth_amendment

It does not become any clearer than that.

The states have the right to decide for themselves whether or not they will allow homosexual marriage or any other law for that matter. Yet man, meaning the government in power, assaults the law which they have been sworn to uphold.

Now having laid that out, what does the Bible say about us obeying the laws of the land?

Please turn your Bible with me to,

Romans 13:1
"Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God."

It is our Father who sets up kings and who also removes them (Daniel 2:21).

Now while God is in control of the world He has given Satan power over it to fulfill the negative portions of God’s plan.

Romans 13:2
"Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."

Now Romans 13 is quoted by just about every Pastor out there as proof that Christians should obey the laws of the land. However, you should understand there is always an "if" or a condition that applies in God’s Word.

Romans 13:3
"For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same."

Romans 13 is assuming the rulers are not evil, or their intentions are not wicked. Romans 13 assumes we have good and honest rulers. In that case, of course, we should obey the laws of the land, but if that is not the case…

Please turn your Bible with me to,

2 Samuel 23:3
"The God of Israel said, the Rock of Israel spake to me, "He that ruleth over men must be just, ruling in the fear of God.""

Who said this?

God.

He said,

"A man that is to rule over the people must be a just man who rules in fear or reverence of the Lord."

Men in power who remove your God given right as a Christian are not ruling with fear of the Lord, are they?

We are to obey the government and obey the laws of the land as long as the laws do not interfere with God’s Laws. As we documented earlier, some of our government officials are breaking the laws of this nation itself.

Further, it was the Apostle Peter who said;

“We ought to obey God rather than men,” (Acts 5:29).

Let us make it extremely clear, any law of men that breaks our God’s Law is not to be followed.

God’s Law clearly states a homosexual act is an abomination to Him (Leviticus 20:13, Romans 1:27, 1 Corinthians 6:9).

God’s Law has not changed,
“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever,” (Hebrews 13:8).

As the days draw on, it will become more difficult for us to practice our Christian faith.

It is True Matthew 5:25 tells us
,
“Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him,”.

However, it is NEVER 'okay' to deny God, and as a note, I feel this is more reserved for the Tribulation of Satan,

Please see:
"Do We Agree With Our Enemy During The Tribulation?".

Here; https://worldeventsandthebible.com/bible-questions/do-we-agree-with-enemy-during-tribulation

It is these trying days that we are now faced with that will separate the True Christians from the pretend Christians. Christ said Himself,

“he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me,” (Matthew 10:38).

This means hardships, trials and real persecution.

Think about what that message means for a moment.

Jesus Christ took up His cross and was crucified on it so you would have the opportunity at Eternal life.

We have all enjoyed great times in this nation, but if you are a True believer in Jesus Christ then you better be prepared to stand by Christ even though your rights will be stripped away from you.

Christ said when Satan steps foot on earth,

“they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake,” (Luke 21:12).

What we are seeing in this nation is only a primer, only a glimpse of what is to come.

Now, I do not know about you, but examples always do it for me.

1 Corinthians 10:11 states;

“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.”

I want you to recall Daniel chapter 3 and what happened there. King Nebuchadnezzar setup a great golden image and made a degree, a law demanding everyone to stop what they are doing, fall down and worship this great image when they heard the music play (Daniel 3:9-30).

Now this was a degree right from the mouth of the king himself, and anyone who failed to heed the kings command was to be thrown into a great fiery furnace.

Now King Nechuchadnezzar had just setup a new law of the land, will God’s servants obey this new law of the land?

Would they listen to the government, and worship a false god, or did they listen to our God in Heaven?

I should not have to answer that for you.

They listened to God, they STOOD BY HIM, they refused to obey the laws of the land.

Due to that, they were thrown into a fiery furnace that was heated seven times hotter than necessary. God was there in the midst of the fire to protect them, and they emerged from the fire when King Nebuchadnezzar called them out.
A fire that had no effect on their bodies, neither did the smell of smoke pass upon them as God stood by those men.

God Protected them in their 'hour of trouble' as they were faithful to Him, instead of being faithful to a corrupt government.

There are many more examples from the prophets of old who disobeyed the government as the government overstepped their bounds and violated God’s Law. This is where the True soldiers of God emerge. Those who will stand for God no matter the cost.

Place on the Gospel armor my friends the time draws nigh,
