During Advent, we invited our church family to create art prompted by the scripture and themes in Philippians 2. These pieces were showcased each week, allowing the Cross & Crown community to observe and reflect on the coming of the humble King…the King of Heaven who emptied Himself, took on flesh, and was exalted through humility. As we look back, we are grateful for the way these works guided us into worship and reflection. Thank you to each artist who shared their work and helped us behold the humility, love, and glory of Christ during the Advent season.
(Below are excerpts from each artist statement that accompanied their art piece. If you would like to see the full descriptions, send a DM)

Intertwining suffering and peace, this piece portrays love poured out in obedience, revealing Christ’s sacrifice as the source of our reconciliation with the Father.
Humility in Holiness | Heather Hollomon
A quiet yet weighty moment where the hand of Christ reaches toward water and cloth, revealing the eternal King who humbly stoops to serve.
His Glory | Kam Arizpe
Through vibrant color and empty vessels, this piece reflects Christ’s completed work of servanthood and the glory of His reign in heaven.
He Is Exalted | Aish Aiken
From stable to cross to crown, this work captures the movement of Philippians 2 as the humbled Son is exalted and every knee bows.
