The church has always had a mandate to honor, protect, and stand with the elderly — and today, we take that mandate seriously.

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day. And while the world is only recently coming to this conversation, the Word of God settled it long ago:

"𝘛𝘩𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘵 𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘣𝘦𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘥, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘎𝘰𝘥: 𝘐 𝘢𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋." — 𝘓𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘶𝘴 19:32 𝘒𝘑𝘝

God did not just suggest that we honor the elderly. He commanded it. And He connected that command directly to the fear of God — because how we treat the most vulnerable among us is a direct reflection of whether we truly reverence Him.

Our elders are not a burden. They are a treasure. They are living testimonies of God's faithfulness. They carry wisdom that cannot be downloaded, history that cannot be replicated, and faith that has been tested and proven through decades of standing on the Word of God.

Today we say clearly:

We see our elders.
We honor our elders.
We will stand in protection of our elders.

If you know an elderly person who is in need of support, encouragement, or community — the church is here. We are a place of refuge and love for every generation.

The doors of Highway Restoration Ministries are open TONIGHT — and the Word of God is ready to go deep. 📖

Every Thursday evening, we gather in person for Christian Education Bible Study — a time to dig into the scriptures together, ask the hard questions, grow in understanding, and leave more rooted in the Word than when we walked in. This is not a lecture. This is a community of believers pressing together into the truth of God.
