There is treasure in you, but pruning is part of how God brings it out.

2 Corinthians 4:7 reminds us that we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us.

That means the gift is real.
The oil is real.
The assignment is real.

But so is the pruning.

In this clip, Pastor Audra Bain and I talk about how God places treasure inside of us, but in order for Him to bring it forth, there are seasons where He has to cut away what cannot remain.

Pruning does not mean God is finished with you.
It means He is making room for fruit that remains.

Sometimes the assignment does not pause just because your heart is breaking.

Our Host, Katissa Lupoe, shares a moment that will stop you in your tracks. She was on her first mission trip to the Philippines when she found out her mother had suddenly passed away.

The trip had just started.
There were still 10 days left.
And she had to decide, “Do I go back home, or do I finish the assignment God sent me to complete?”

That kind of surrender is not easy.
That kind of yes costs something.

But then God gave her a sign. A rainbow appeared over her mother’s house, reminding her of a promise He made to her and she made to Him as a little girl:

“Lord, if You save my mother, I will serve You all the days of my life.”

God kept His part.
Now she had to complete hers.

Sometimes the desire to be seen can pull us outside of the assignment God gave us.

But God did not call you to be popular.
He called you to be faithful.
He called you to be pure.
He called you to be who He designed you to be.
