This year MLK Day falls on the actual birthday of this celebrated civil rights leader who was assassinated more than half a century ago.

Dr. King led a nonviolent crusade against racist segregation policies and horrendous brutality against Black people.

By 1966, two years after he received the Nobel Peace Prize, 66% of Americans had an unfavorable opinion of King. Today, 81% of American adults say he had a positive impact on the country.

In 1994, under former President Bill Clinton, MLK Day became the only federal holiday dedicated to volunteerism. Americans are encouraged to observe the day with acts of civic work and community service in honor of Kings legacy.

The Nannie B Paxton Women's Missionary Society Celebrating Christmas with the Victoria Gardens Nursing Home in Riviera Beach. The smiles on their faces was worth it all. They loved all their gifts. We are blessed to be a blessing. Thank you to everyone who made this evening a huge success. We have a marvelous time in the Lord.

We had a glorious time in the Lord, today, as we celebrated our Annual Women's Day!

Thank you to our speaker, Minister Tara Graham who brought the word, "I Shall Wear A Crown." Women of God we can't let nothing stop us from doing what we have been called to do for the Lord. We have been commissioned to serve and to pursue our purpose.

Thank you to our Co-Chairpersons Sis Dorothy Graham and Sis Tara Graham for their outstanding leadership. Thank you to our worship leader, Sis Duncan and all our program participants. Thank you to our team leaders, Lady Michelle, Sis Lillie Johnson and Sis Traci D. Graham. Thank you to our Kitchen Staff, Decorators, Cooks and Clean Up Crew. And thank you to our Pastor, Rev Dr John Williams Jr.

And a great big God Bless You to Sis Irene Fisher and the wonderful members of Allen Temple. I greatly appreciate the way you make me feel loved. Thank you for my award it was a very unexpected, yet blessed surprise. And guess what, I love you, too! ❤️❤️

We, the Nannie B Paxton Women's Missionary Society of Allen Temple AME Church, are asking YOU to help us Honor and Celebrate this Great Woman of God.

Sister Irene Fisher has been a tremendous blessing to her church family and her natural family. Her ministry of caring and sharing has reached lives both near and far. She has a special anointing in making people feel loved and appreciated.

Congratulations to all our 2023 recipients of The James Earl Washington Scholarship: Henry Chin, Chamia Pasquier, Leahyana Wallace, Ny'Ajah Jones, Tavaris Nixon and Zaria Hayes.

On behalf of our Pastor, Rev Dr John Williams Jr., the Chairperson of our Scholarship Fund, Bro Raymond Graham, our Scholarship committee and the members of Allen Temple AME Church we pray that this scholarship will bless you. We pray that you will move forward, with grace, along the road to higher education. We pray that you will press on to becoming the best you can be. We pray you will tear down those walls that have been strategically and systematically placed in front of you and reach beyond expectations.

We want to thank all our sponsors and those who have contributed to our scholarship fund and made this event possible. Thank you to our speaker, Rev Berkley Finley, for encouraging our graduates to "Be Committed" and "Stay Committed."

The Nannie B Paxton Women's Missionary Society will be selling breakfast next Saturday, June 17th starting at 8:00AM, right here at Allen Temple, 832 Avenue I Riviera Beach, Florida 33404

On the menu we have Sausage, Bacon and Smothered Chicken Wings. All meals include: eggs, grits, toast and juice all for $12.00.

And if you buy three meals you will get the fourth one free. Also, in celebration of Fathers Day you can take a picture with that special man in your life at our photo booth FREE OF CHARGE. Thank you in advance for your support.

To the Mothers of Allen Temple Riviera Beach and those that worship and praise God with us, I want to wish you a Happy Mother's Day.

To the Grandmothers, Godmothers, Aunties, Sisters, Cousins, Adopted Mothers, Foster Mothers and all the villages who have committed themselves to this awesome position of raising up our future generations.

I pray that God will continue to keep you lifted up. I pray he will continue to cover you and meet your every need. I pray that your children will rise up and call you blessed. I pray that God will give you the wisdom and strength you need to be good stewards over the children he has trusted you with.

May He make your way easy as you navigate through parenthood through the different stages of life. From the cradle to graduation to sending them out into the world with the tools they need to survive. And may God light your path and guide your feet.
