OUT OF THE ASHES | WEEK 1
Into the Depths โ€” 1 Samuel 30:1โ€“6 / Psalm 56
๐Ÿ“… 8/30/2026
๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Pastor Ben Fleet

This past Sunday we began a new sermon series, Out of the Ashes, with a message for the moments when life feels like it has completely fallen apart.

David found himself at one of the lowest points of his life. Rejected, discouraged, surrounded by loss, and even turned against by his own men.

Yet in the middle of the ashes, Scripture says:

โ€œBut David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.โ€ โ€” 1 Samuel 30:6

David didnโ€™t allow his circumstances to define his God. He allowed his God to define his circumstances.

Psalm 56 gives us a glimpse into how David responded when everything around him was falling apart:

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ He prayed.
Prayer wasnโ€™t Davidโ€™s last resortโ€”it was his response of faith. He asked for grace to endure before asking for deliverance.

๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ He praised.
Davidโ€™s praise wasnโ€™t dependent on his circumstances changing. His praise was anchored in who God is.

๐ŸŒŸ He performed.
David committed himself to God even before he saw the deliverance. He lived as a thank offering, trusting God with what was still to come.

Sometimes weโ€™re waiting for God to change our circumstances before we surrender, obey, or worship.

But faith says, โ€œEven here, I trust You.โ€

So when you find yourself in the depths:

Donโ€™t lose heart because God hasnโ€™t answered yet. Take heart because God hears.

Keep praying.
Keep praising.
Keep trusting.
Keep living surrendered.

Your circumstances may change, but God does not.

And ultimately, Davidโ€™s story points us to Jesusโ€”the One who truly conquered death and secured the deliverance we could never earn ourselves.

There is hope in the ashes. There is purpose in the depths. And God is not finished yet. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿšจ NEW SERMON SERIES: OUT OF THE ASHES ๐Ÿ”ฅ

What do you do when life brings you to your lowest point?

This past Sunday, we began our new 3-week series, Out of the Ashes, following the story of David, from the difficult moments we see unfold in 1 Samuel to the raw prayers and cries of his heart found in the Psalms.

David experienced rejection, fear, loss, failure, uncertainty, and moments when it seemed like everything was falling apart. Yet, in the middle of it all, he continued to turn toward God.

Over these next three weeks, weโ€™ll discover how to:

โœจ Respond faithfully in lifeโ€™s worst moments
โœจ Seek Godโ€™s strength when we feel like giving up
โœจ Trust God to elevate us beyond the moment weโ€™re in

Your worst moment doesnโ€™t have to be the end of your story. God can bring hope, purpose, and new life out of the ashes.

Join us this Sunday at 10:30 AM as we continue Out of the Ashes.

YOU ARE SENT | WEEK 4
No Other Way โ€” Matthew 28:20b

Weโ€™ve reached the final week of our You Are Sent series, closing with one of the most powerful promises in the Great Commission:

โ€œBehold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.โ€ โ€” Matthew 28:20

After four weeks of asking why we go, how we go, what it looks like to make disciples, and why we can have confidence in the mission, we end with this truth:

We donโ€™t go alone.

Our confidence doesnโ€™t come from our strength, abilities, or knowledge. It comes from the One who goes with us.

๐Ÿ‘‘ Christ is with us.
He is the risen King who has already won the victory. We arenโ€™t sent to secure His victoryโ€”weโ€™re sent because He has already won.

๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ Christ is with us always.
In the big moments and the ordinary ones. Every day of the mission, He is with His people.

โณ Christ is coming again.
We know He will returnโ€”we just donโ€™t know when. So we live with urgency, faithfulness, holiness, readiness, and hope.

Donโ€™t wait until you feel ready to obey Jesus. Donโ€™t underestimate where He has placed you.

Your family.
Your workplace.
Your neighborhood.
Your friendships.
Your everyday life.

Christ is with you there.

Our King has already won.
Our King is with us now.
And our King may come today.

After four weeks, the message is clear:

You are sent. ๐Ÿ“ซโœ‰๏ธ

YOU ARE SENT | WEEK 3
No Other Way โ€” Matthew 28:19bโ€“20a
๐Ÿ“… 8/16/2026
๐ŸŽ™๏ธPastor Ben Fleet

As weโ€™ve continued our journey through the You Are Sent series, Week 3 brought us to an important question:

What does it actually look like to make disciples?

Jesus doesnโ€™t leave us guessing.

The Great Commission shows us two essential marks of discipleship:

๐Ÿ’ง Baptism โ€” identifying with the King.
Baptism is the outward declaration of an inward faith. It pictures our death to the old life, our burial with Christ, and our resurrection into new life.

But baptism isnโ€™t the finish line.

๐Ÿ“– Obedience โ€” learning to follow the King.
Jesus commands His disciples to teach others to observe all that He commanded. The goal isnโ€™t simply knowing what Jesus said. The goal is living it.

Because discipleship isnโ€™t passive. Itโ€™s a life of surrender, obedience, growth, and relationship.

Baptism is a birth announcement, not a retirement plan.

A disciple doesnโ€™t simply say they belong to Jesusโ€”their life begins to look like they belong to Him.

So what does that look like?

๐Ÿ’› Love God completely.
๐Ÿค๐Ÿฝ Love your neighbor.
โœจ Live by the Golden Rule.
๐ŸŒฟ Pursue Kingdom character.
๐Ÿ—ฃ๐Ÿฝ Practice honesty.
๐Ÿค Pursue purity.
โค๏ธ Love your enemies.
๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ Forgive unconditionally.
๐Ÿ‘€ Avoid judgment and hypocrisy.
๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Seek reconciliation.
๐Ÿ’ฐ Put God above wealth.
๐ŸŽ Give generously.
๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Trust God over anxiety.
๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฝ Pray sincerely.
๐ŸŒ™ Fast with humility.
๐ŸŒฑ Abide in Christ.
โœ๏ธ Deny yourself daily.
๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿฝ Serve others.
๐Ÿ‘ฃ Put faith into action.
๐ŸŒŽ Make disciples.

And if that list feels overwhelming, remember what Jesus says: Love God. Love your neighbor. Start with the next right thing.

Whether youโ€™re considering following Jesus, taking the next step of baptism, feeling spiritually complacent, or wondering who youโ€™re supposed to discipleโ€”the invitation is the same:

Follow the King. Obey the King. Make disciples of the King.

The story of the church is the story of disciples making disciples.

And it continues with us.

You are sent. ๐Ÿ“ซโœ‰๏ธ

YOU ARE SENT | WEEK 2
No Plan B โ€” Matthew 28:19
๐Ÿ“… 8/9/2026
๐ŸŽ™๏ธPastor Ben Fleet

As weโ€™ve continued through our You Are Sent series, weโ€™re looking back at Week 2: No Plan B.

Jesus didnโ€™t give His disciples the Great Commission as a suggestion. He gave it as a commandโ€”and He gave it from a position of complete authority.

Go. Therefore. Make disciples.

From the beginning of Scripture, Godโ€™s mission has always been to make His name known among the nations. The nations werenโ€™t an afterthought to Godโ€™s planโ€”they were always the destination.

And that mission is still going.

There are still thousands of people groups around the world who remain unreached. The question isnโ€™t whether we are called to missions. The question is how we will go.

But discipleship doesnโ€™t begin on the other side of the world. It begins at home. What are we modeling for our children? What are we teaching them to love? What kind of faith are they seeing lived out in us?

We cannot call others to go deeper with Jesus than we are willing to go ourselves.

So the question Jesus leaves us with is simple:

What will you do next?

Pray. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
Give.๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿผ
Go.๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ
Make disciples.๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผโ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿ‘จ๐Ÿป
Live surrendered.๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Because โ€œGo, thereforeโ€ was never a suggestion. It was a commandโ€”backed by the authority of a risen King.

You are sent. ๐Ÿ“ซโœ‰๏ธ

What a powerful start to our new series, You Are Sent. ๐Ÿ™Œ

This Sunday we were reminded that before Jesus calls us to go, He reminds us of who He is:

โ€œAll authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.โ€ โ€” Matthew 28:18

Our confidence isnโ€™t found in our own strengthโ€”itโ€™s found in the authority of our risen King.

Because Jesus reigns, we can step forward boldly. We are called to live on mission, make disciples, and share the hope of the Gospel wherever God has placed us.

The King has authority. The mission is clear.

You are sent. ๐Ÿ“ซโœ‰๏ธ
