Hoping to see you on Saturday for our 1st Stake Service day at the historic and beautiful Elmwood Cemetery located at 4900 E Truman Road, KCMO 64127. If you did not get the chance to sign up, grab your gloves, bug spray, water and tools for gardening and come on down.

President Oaks will be speaking at the National Cathedral on September 16th on the topic of Faith, Freedom and the Common Good. The event will be streamed live and starts at 6 pm (Eastern Time). Linda resided in the Oak Grove Ward, but through so many boundary changes and Stake spilts her friends are in several different wards and stakes in the metro area. You may know her children Katie, Jason, Jacob, Jared, Naomi and Jsy Gilliam.

The first-ever Shoal Creek Stake Service Project is coming up!

That’s right—every member of our stake is invited to join together for a morning of service at beautiful Elmwood Cemetery.

Elmwood Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Kansas City and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We’ll be helping clean and spruce up the grounds in preparation for an upcoming event.

Work starts at 8 but come when you can! When you arrive, you’ll be assigned to a service area. There will be a variety of jobs for all ages and abilities, including simple tasks for children such as picking up sticks and other light cleanup.

Having an approximate head count will help us work with the cemetery to prioritize the projects that need to be completed and make the best use of everyone’s time.

Mormon church to build 4th location, new 10-acre meetinghouse in KC’s Northland
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will build a new meetinghouse on church-owned land in Kansas City’s Northland in Clay County by as soon as 2027.
