Hello St. Matthew's Family and Friends! Saturday August 29th, 2026, was a historic day in the life of the church! We had a wonderfully fun and productive time for RENEW Day! The theme for the day was Hawaiian as you can see. The food arrangements by Mindy were fantastic ~ thank you Mindy! The discussion and thought were Spirit-led, and the outcomes will be shared soon. Thanks to all who prayed for this terrific day and for the 11 who attended. The day will be a precious memory for us for years to come. Finally, thanks to North American Lutheran Church and Rev. Tom Brashears for the amazingly teachable, robust, and implementable RENEW curriculum. We walked away with clear direction and enthusiasm for the future of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran NALC. There will be a few more congregational steps to move forward in wrapping up the RENEW program so stay tuned for news on this. Finally, thanks to all who helped clean up and prep for the Peeler Funeral following the event. We had a quick turn and you guys were amazing!

Hello St. Matthew's Family and Friends! This is the day before our RENEW Saturday and preparation and prayer has been invested. Let us now thank God for what will happen. "Lord, thank you for the preparation and planning for RENEW Day. We anticipate with joy what you will do among us. Help us this day in all we do and say and prepare us for RENEW Day to be ready to work with one another in love and unity for your Kingdom's sake. Amen" // Also, PLEASE NOTE the Winston Peeler Memorial Service will also happen at the church on Saturday beginning at 4 PM with a time of visitation lasting until 5:30 PM. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Hello St. Matthew's Family and Friends. This has been a week of daily prayer here on FB to keep our hearts in tune with Christ's mission everyday but also for our RENEW Saturday in just two days. So, pray with me, "Lord, You reveal yourself to us in new and fresh ways daily and so today help us listen to what you are saying to us for the day and for our time on Saturday. We ask you Holy Spirit to blow fresh ideas and dreams our way for Your church this day and on Saturday. We give you our highest praise. Amen."

Let's pray for it..."Lord, we ask you keep our hearts and minds soft and open to what You for what You want to do in and through us this Saturday. Help us to be in tune with Your Spirit as You prepare us for discussions and explorations regarding your mission for us. Be with each care of our church family today and draw near to the hurting and lonely. We ask all this in Jesus Name. Amen."

This is the Tuesday before our RENEW Day Saturday and as we prepare for the day we are reminded of the words of Paul in Philippians to "let this mind be in us that is in Christ Jesus." "O Lord, shape our minds and hearts this week and on Saturday towards your Kingdom purposes and mission. For Christ's sake and glory, we pray this. Amen."

Abide near us and help us to listen and think with Your Kingdom mission in our hearts. Thank you for the General NALC Leaders who've prepared the materials for us. Hello St. Matthew's Family and Friends! Lots of good news here and reminders. 1) August 19th at 5:30 PM is Prayer Meeting in the Sanctuary. We'd enjoy seeing you during this time of prayer for St. Matthew's. 2) What a tremendous show of participation for school supplies this last Sunday as we partner with Riverside Chamber to meet local needs in this way. On such short notice you all really knocked it out!! 3) Our PREK-K Sunday School area is coming along, and we'll be announcing a launch Sunday here soon. 4) THIS SUNDAY we'll be hearing The Word from Matthew 16:13-20. Read on ahead and be journaling about things that stand out to you. 5) .....and finally, I hope you'll be at RENEW Day on SATURDAY August 29th. We'll have great food and snacks/drinks, lots to talk about, and we'll leave with action items for the mission of God for St. Matthew's. TIME: 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. (Oh Yeah!) 3) We had a terrific group for midweek prayer this week at 5:30 PM and we're going to do it again next Wednesday, same time.
