Giving thanks to the members of Episcopal Church Women (ECW) at St. Mary's Laguna Beach for your generous gift of $900 to support the feeding ministry at St. Michael's Church in Riverside. This money was raised over the last year through a number of events run by ECW volunteers. Live backyard concerts, holiday dinners, and a chili cook-off are some examples. All the money is given away to charitable organizations, including CASA, Wells of Life, St. Michael’s Episcopal Church Food Distribution, Native American Heritage Association, Wheelchair Mission and others regionally, nationally and globally. We are eternally grateful for your service and your love.

Lots of joy at the consecration of the new bishop of Los Angeles yesterday. The procession was led by First Women Gather Around the Fire and Sisters of the One Drum led by Sewa Valencia. We drummed, sang, and prayed. Our new bishop is the first Latino to hold the office in this diocese. He is Venezuelan, Antonio Jose Gallardo Lucena.
