What is the deal with VBS?
Well, listen… Here are 5 reasons why you should be excited to get involved with Vacation Bible School this year and what God- not just Marquita- says about it all.
1. Community Outreach- The Gospel is not just for you, but for everyone. As Christians, we have 1 job: to win souls to the Kingdom of God.
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; And he that winneth souls is wise.”

“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”
Philippians 2:4-5 NLT
2. Cultivating Fellowship- The children are watching- we have to stop being afraid of what we may think about each other and be the example. It's bigger than you. It's bigger than me. Fellowship brings joy- this is the mindset we should be teaching the children.
“that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full.”

3. Training the Children- no comment.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.”

4. Teamwork- this is the real “Christian culture”.
“Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.”

5. Commitment to the Kingdom- let's show the children what it looks like.
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.”

God, I pray that You receive all honor and glory from this event. May the blood of Jesus captivate and cleanse the hearts of each person reading this post. May the name of Jesus break every chain that keeps us from serving the Lord with boldness and gladness. God please make us great through this event and open our hearts to learn from the children as we show up to teach them Your word. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
