Sunday Service Recap with Senior Pastors Al Sautia and Donna Sautia | October 18, 2026

We held service outside on this beautiful day and reflected on Job chapter 9 as Pastor Al walked us through a question many of us ask during difficult seasons: “Why doesn’t this make sense?”

Job was hurting, confused, and searching for God. He couldn’t see what God was doing, but he kept reaching for Him. Pastor Al highlighted three key points from the chapter:

• Invisible — Job couldn’t see God or understand what He was doing, but God was still working.
• Irresistible — No one can stop God’s hand, block His purpose, or frustrate His plan.
• Unacceptable — Job recognized the distance between God’s holiness and human weakness, and his need for a mediator. Jesus is the One who bridges the gap between God and us.

Faith doesn’t mean pretending everything is okay. It means bringing our questions and pain to God and continuing to trust Him while we wait.

When the tears fall, hold on. When answers don’t come, hold on. When life doesn’t make sense, remember: God is still God, and He is still working.

📖 Sunday Recap: Job Chapter 8 — Bildad's Confidence without Compassion

This Sunday, we continued our study through Job with Bildad’s response. Although he had been present with Job during his grief, Bildad began speaking as if he knew exactly why Job was suffering. His words sounded confident, but they lacked compassion.

Through the toothpaste illustration, we were reminded that once words leave our mouths, we can’t take them back. James 1:19 teaches us to be quick to listen and slow to speak. Before we give advice or make assumptions, we should take time to hear someone’s heart and offer comfort.

We may see only one painful moment in someone’s life, but God sees the whole story. Let’s use our words to encourage others, and keep trusting God through every season. One difficult chapter does not tell the whole story.
