Deep down we all desire meaningful friendships! Time in college can help you build friendships that last a lifetime. Friendships that help you thrive and find grounding, love, and support through the ups and downs of college life (...and postgrad life too)! As the start of the school year draws closer (can't believe it's already AUGUST!!), we wanted to offer "8 Tips for Finding Friends if You're Living on Campus this Year!" We hope these tips will help break it down for you and help get you excited for starting a new school year and building new friendships after 1.5 years of closed campuses, etc. These are difficult times and we want to be there to support you any way we can! Save these tips for yourself & tag a friend who might find these tips helpful, too! And current students... tag a friend you've made so far in college and couldn't imagine life without!! Give them a shout out here!!!! 😍Also, if you're a current student or alumni and have any other tips to offer incoming students, drop them in the comments! They will be much appreciated ✌️

TIPS:
1. Get friendly with your neighbors! Dorm friendships are awesome because you can hang out without having to go far. After meeting a few new people see if they'll grab lunch with you so you can get to know them.
2. Go to the events hosted by your dorm!
3. Get involved with extracurricular activites.
4. Get new people's numbers of IG pages, and then follow up.
5. Schedule to do something before you leave an event.
6. Be yourself! To find true friendship you have to be yourself!
7. Introduce yourself to someone new every day during the first month.
8. Listen to yourself and use boundaries.

Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) have a rich heritage reaching across thousands of years. Celebrated nationally in May, AAPI Heritage Month honors and celebrates AAPIs who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success.

As Christians, we invite multicultural diversity because we are motivated by the love of God, thus to love other human beings. God calls us to imitate his love in a world-wide embrace, allowing us to have a multicultural understanding of our faith. Our diversity strengthens our communities and promotes respect, understanding, and equality.

Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month is especially significant this year with the rise of Anti-Asian sentiment throughout the country. Our hope is to create an important wave of awareness and a desire to educate more about the AAPI community.

We are one in Christ and one in love. Let us learn to celebrate our diversity together. Happy AAPI Heritage Month! Keep an eye out for some future AAPI focused resource posts and stories this month.
