5-Day Devotional: Living Under an Open Heaven

Devotional: When Jesus emerged from the waters of baptism, heaven itself tore open. This wasn't a gentle parting—it was a divine ripping away of separation between heaven and earth. In your own journey of faith, baptism marks a similar tear in the spiritual realm. It's not a ritual that saves you, but a declaration that you are saved. Like a wedding ring doesn't make you married but shows you are, baptism demonstrates your commitment to walk in new life. Today, remember that you don't live under a closed heaven of spiritual drought. Through Christ, heaven has been torn open for you, granting unhindered access to the Father's presence, the Spirit's power, and divine resources for every situation you face.

Water baptism does not save you, it shows that you are saved. It doesn't make you a Christian. It shows that you are a Christian, that you are a Christ follower and you have access to an Open Heaven.

What does it mean to live under an open heaven? When Jesus was baptized, the heavens tore open, the Holy Spirit descended, and the Father's voice declared His love. This wasn't just for Jesus—it's a blueprint for every believer.

Water baptism isn't a ritual; it's stepping into a new dimension where you have unhindered access to God. It's moving from spiritual drought to living under a constant downpour of His presence. You're no longer limited by your own strength—you tap into supernatural resources of peace, patience, and power.

We celebrated baptisms this Sunday and discovered what it means to pray with expectation instead of desperation, to live with peace despite the storms, and to become a conduit of heaven's blessing to others. You don't have to perform for God's love—you already have it. The separation between heaven and earth becomes paper thin when you position yourself under this open heaven.
