Student Ministry Director Jay Greeson continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon entitled “Good News: The Lamb of God Has Come" from Luke 22:1-38.

Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Our scripture text for today reveals three truths about His identity as such.

Jesus is the:

* Betrayed lamb
* Better lamb
* Burdened lamb.

Pastor Jarrod continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon entitled “Good News: The End Is Coming" from Luke 21.

In Luke 21, Jesus tells his followers what to expect in the days following his death and resurrection. Jesus explains the coming days and decades will be filled with difficulty - the temple will be destroyed and the world will see wars, famines and political upheaval. In all of this uncertainty, followers of Jesus can be certain that the Lord will give them words to say, protect them, and save them.

Whatever we see or experience in this world, do not lose heart. Instead, lift up your heads knowing that if you are following Jesus, your redemption is closer than its ever been (Luke 21:28)

Pastor Jarrod continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon entitled “Good News: Jesus Has Authority" from Luke 20.

In Luke 20, Jesus is repeatedly challenged about the concept of authority.

Each of us has struggled with the concept of authority from our earliest days. As little children, we want to rule our own worlds. We don’t grow out of that during our teen years, and even in adulthood, we struggle. Despite all our efforts to be our own boss, we are all under someone’s authority, but we need to be discerning about under whose authority we submit.

If you are a Christ-follower, ultimately, your whole life belongs to God, and you fall under His authority.

23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. (Luke 9:23)

Pastor Jarrod preached a special sermon for Mother’s Day sermon entitled “A Life Worth Praising” from Proverbs 31.

On this Mother’s Day 2026, we were reminded of the importance of all Mothers, as well as all Christ-followers, to live out Proverbs 9:10 -

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.

If women live out those truths, Proverbs 31:30 will be true of them as well.

30 Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

Pastor Jarrod continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon entitled “Good News: See Jesus" from Luke 19.

Today’s scripture text tells the story of one of the most well-known people to those who grew up in Sunday School - Zacchaeus.

Admit it - some of you immediately began to sing “Zacchaeus was a wee little man,….”

Yet, Zacchaeus is not only a favorite figure of children, but has a testimony that should speak to adults, as well.

We don’t know what prompted him, but he so wanted to see Jesus. Although he was a rich and influential man, he humbled himself and went out of his way to lay eyes on Jesus.

When he saw Jesus and Jesus saw him, his life was never the same.

Have you experienced that truth? Would you agree that once you saw Jesus, nothing in your life has ever been the same?

If you haven’t experienced seeing Jesus and Him seeing you, what is holding you back?

“Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.” (“Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus,” George Romance/Kevin Winebarger/Nathan Stiff/Nic Trout)

Student Ministry Director Jay Greeson continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon from Luke 18.

In Luke 18, Jesus continued to reveal the Kingdom of God, a kingdom that appeared upside down in all ways to their culture.

The stories in this chapter did not focus on human strength but on needy people.

The kingdom of God is made up of needy people, so we should turn to a God who can meet those needs.

And the Lord often uses the needy to accomplish His purposes.

27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Pastor Jarrod continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon titled “Good News: The Kingdom is Among Us" from Luke 17.

In today’s passage, we see insights as to what the Kingdom of God looks like, even in our everyday lives.

What are the signs of the Kingdom among us, even now?

1. Radical forgiveness;
2. Walking by faith;
3. Humble service;
4. Thankful hearts;
5. Staying ready for Christ’s Second Coming.

Pastor Jarrod continued our series, “Luke: Good News for All People,” with a sermon titled “Good News: Don't Waste It" from Luke 16.

The primary focus of Luke 16 is stewardship. This is a challenging concept for all of us.

Ask yourself this question: “Do I live my life as a manager or an owner?”

If you are a Christ-follower, you have given up ownership in all areas of your life.

24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. (Matthew 16:24-25)

Eternity is final. Steward accordingly. Your life. Relationships. Talents. Resources. Time.
