This psalm praises the glory of God. It reminds us that we need only to look up at the sky and be amazed by the heavens that God has created, to know that God is worthy of our trust. If our faith is in the God who created the entire universe, we can be confident that he will never let us down. Little ones learned, “I can be confident because of God’s power, not my own.”

KEY PASSAGE: Psalm 19

PLAYING:
Ask your kid to try to build a fort out of blankets, a tiny house out of sticks, or a house out of playdough. After they try on their own, ask them if they need any help. Remind them that we can feel confident when we build our life on Jesus. He is like a house that never crumbles or falls down.

EATING:
Using yogurt or fresh squeezed juice, create popsicles with your kid. Fill an ice cube tray and place it in the freezer. Set a timer for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, take the ice cube tray out, add popsicles to each section of the tray, and place it back in the freezer. After a few hours, enjoy a popsicle! Ask your child why popsicle sticks wouldn’t be a good idea to use to build a house. Remind them that we can have confidence in God, not in our own strength. Building a house out of popsicle sticks is like trying to do life without God and depending only on ourselves. Building a house out of bricks is like depending on God and having something strong to put our confidence in!

SNUGGLING:
When you’re rocking with your child at night, or reading a bedtime story, choose to read this week’s Bible lesson at least one night of the week. (Psalm 19) Talk about how God’s attributes like “trustworthy”, “pure”, and “right” are the reason why we can put our confidence in Him! He is a perfect and powerful God that we can trust!

This week we talked about Elijah. God called Elijah the prophet to confront Ahab. Ahab had married someone who worshiped false gods and led others to do the same. In an epic showdown, each side asked their god to send down fire, but only the one true God was faithful. Kids learned, “I can pray to God, when I feel alone.”

KEY PASSAGE:
1 Kings 18:19-39, Elijah vs. Ahab & Jezebel

PARENT TIME:
What you need to know:
We live in a world where Christianity is not always popular. Ask God to help your kids pray to Him when they feel alone.

HANGING OUT:
Make this week's lesson real:
Ask your kids if they’ve ever felt alone as a Christian.

AT DINNER:
Here are some great discussion starters:
Why did Elijah want water on the altar?
How brave do you think Elijah was to stand against all the false prophets and the evil king and queen?
Why didn’t Elijah leave instead of saving the people?

Quiz your child on this week's memory verse:
“Don’t let evil overcome you. Overcome evil by doing good.” Romans 12:21 (NlRV)

David was very sick and sad. He thought that God had left him. Instead of just giving up on his relationship with God, he cried out to God for comfort. Little ones learned, “I can talk to God when I’m sad and he will comfort me.”

KEY PASSAGE: Psalm 6

PLAYING:
Play capture the ball outside! Use the same rules for capturing the flag, but instead, you are allowed to throw the ball and if it makes it to the other side before you are tagged, you win! (This makes the game a little easier for just two people playing or for younger kids.)

EATING:
During the meal, carefully roll a hard-boiled egg around the table from person to person. Whoever has the egg has to talk about one thing that happened that day and how it made them feel. This fun game is a good conversation starter at the dinner table and if the egg rolls off the table and cracks, it might just make everyone “crack up”!

SNUGGLING
When you’re rocking with your child at night, or reading a bedtime story, choose to read this week’s Bible lesson at least one night of the week. (Psalm 6) Ask your child how this psalm makes them feel and if they have ever felt this way about anything.

David was the only Israelite brave enough to challenge the giant Goliath. But David’s bravery didn’t come from his self-confidence, it came from his confidence in God. Kids learned, “I can have confidence knowing God is with me.”

KEY PASSAGE:
1 Samuel 17:32-50, David and Goliath

PARENT TIME:
What you need to know: There will always be giants in our lives. Ask God to help your kids put their faith in Him when giants come against them.

HANGING OUT:
Make this week's lesson real: Ask your kids if they have confidence like David.

AT DINNER:
Here are some great discussion starters:
How do you think the Philistines responded when Goliath died?
What confidence do you think Goliath’s death gave the Israelites?
What can we learn about David’s faith in God?

In this psalm, David talks about the difference between people who choose God’s way and those who don’t. Choosing God’s way leads to the peace and confidence of trees planted by water. But choosing to ignore God’s way leads to chaos and confusion like leaves in the wind. Little ones learned to say: “When I feel worried, I can turn to God for guidance.

KEY PASSAGE: Psalm 1

PLAYING:
Make a comfy spot in your kid's room where they can go and pray to God. Use pillows, blankets, bean bags, cushions, etc. Encourage your child to draw near to God and pray no matter how they are feeling.

EATING:
Ask, “How are you feeling today?” Talk about emotions and how God can give us great emotions like joy and peace when we draw near to Him.

God gave Moses a huge job. He asked Moses to face the most powerful leader in the world and ask him to free the Israelite people. Moses must have been so afraid, but God gave him courage. Kids learned, “God will give me the courage to do what’s right.”

KEY PASSAGE:
Exodus 14:19-31, Moses vs. Pharaoh

PARENT TIME:
What you need to know:
Due to social media, our children have more access to danger than we did. Ask God to help your kids have the courage to do right.

HANGING OUT:
Make this week's lesson real:
Ask your kids if there was a time when God gave them courage to do what’s right.

AT DINNER:

Our mommies do a lot to take care of us every day. We should thank God for mommies and we should also find ways to show mommy that we love her every day, but especially on Mother’s Day. Little ones learned ways to show their Mommy they love her today.

KEY PASSAGE:
Exodus 2:1-10, Jochebed Saves Her Son

PLAYING:
Make this week’s lesson real:
Use dolls or Legos to do a family role-play. Create a Mom and kids to play with using toys, and have the kids show how Mom cares for her kids.

EATING:
Give the kids a chance to help Mom set the table or prepare a snack.

SNUGGLING:
When you’re rocking with your child at night, or reading a bedtime story, choose to read this week’s Bible lesson at least one night of the week. Ask them how Jochebed protected Moses, and then ask them why God gave Moses a mom like Jochebed.

Naomi wasn’t Ruth’s real mom, but Ruth treated her like she was. Ruth loved Naomi very much, and she shows us how we can love our Moms. Today kids were challenged to choose something they will do to show love to their Mom.

KEY PASSAGE:
Ruth 1:6-17, Ruth and Naomi

PARENT TIME:
What you need to know:
Pray that God will continue to give you the wisdom, the guidance, and the patience you need to raise children who love Jesus. Thank God for the blessings he gives you as a parent. And don’t forget to tell your mom you love her!
